Wikipedia:Notability (Religious texts)

The following is the proposed guideline for religious texts:

Bible edit

Religious texts including the Bible, related books, and other derivatives are inherently notable. This includes the text of any religion.

Established named books and divisions of the Bible (known as "Parashah" in Hebrew) are inherently notable. Currently, an article exists for each Parashah.

Books and tractates of the Mishnah are inherently notable, and currently, an article exists on each tractate.

Psalms edit

Religious books, such as Psalms are inherently notable. Though an article on each of the 150 psalms is yet to exist, creating an article on any psalm is acceptable.

Biblical commentaries edit

Biblical commentaries that are published are inherently notable. However, Wikipedia is not the place to write one's own commentary on religious texts.

Prayers edit

Prayers of an established religion that appear in a published prayer book are inherently notable. An article may be created for each prayer.
