WSU Open Access Week/Edit-a-thon

The Washington State University libraries, in conjunction with other Western Water Digital Library members, is hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Tuesday, October 21, between 9am and 6pm.

Editors of all experience levels are invited to:

  1. Meet with fellow editors from WSU and the Moscow/Pullman community at large.
  2. Help develop and improve Wikipedia articles about water issues and topics in Washington state.
  3. Create editors, create community, create content!
  • Location: WSU Terrell Library, room 103, with plenty of Dell power cables and about 15 laptops that can be loaned out.
  • All are welcome, including...
  • Experienced or new Wikipedians (We will provide assistance with Wikipedia formatting and syntax).
  • Anyone with an interest in water issues, improving public information or democratic discourse.
  • Amateur historians or research pros.
  • WSU faculty, staff, and students.
  • Members of the community.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day.

  • Please register an account prior to the event if you do not have one yet. There are many benefits to having an account, like being able to make your own username and track your contributions.

In addition, there will a brownbag training session for librarians and the WSU community, led by experienced Wikipedian Figureskatingfan on Wednesday, October 15, 12 noon to 1:30pm, Terrell Library, room #105.
