WikiWork! A Collaborative Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon, featuring the UW Labor Archives edit

Would you like to learn how to edit Wikipedia? Or are you an experienced editor, looking to make connections in the UW community? Are you interested in opportunities for digital activism that makes a real impact on the way in which information is created? Or maybe you just love UW’s libraries and archives and want to share them with the world!

The WikiWork! Collaborative Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon will introduce hands-on Wikipedia editing standards and techniques, while bringing conversations about local, working class history and other issues of representation to the world’s largest encyclopedia.

Join us for this dynamic interchange of people and technology, knowledge and information.

Proposed articles to edit edit

Perhaps we can document recent labor relations and union activities at Microsoft; Boeing; public sector unions like police, teacher, caregiver, and university employee unions; and the issues around minimum wage and legally mandated sick leave allowances.
Labor and the New Deal can become the basis for a Labor and the New Deal Wikipedia article linked from the Labor relations section in the New Deal article.
Seattle_General_Strike can be expanded from "T", "he Seattle General Strike of 1919, and its Aftermath". LAWS Digital Collection - Labor Archives of Washington. {{cite web}}: External link in |work= (help).
I.W.W. in the Pacific Northwest could be the basis for its own I.W.W. in the Pacific Northwest Wikipedia article, using something like the {{further}} template, such as {{further|I.W.W. in the Pacific Northwest}} in the organizing section of Industrial Workers of the_World to direct one to the new article.
