The intermediary step in the dispute resolution is a request for mediation. There are several steps to take before reaching this instance of the dispute resolution process. If none of these routes are followed first it is very likely that your request will be rejected.
- These steps should be taken before presenting a case before the Mediaton Committee:
- Talk to the parties involved.
- Discuss with third parties.
- Conduct a survey.
For more information, see Wikipedia:Resolving disputes.
If these steps have failed, and you see no reasonable chance that the matter can be resolved in another manner, you may request the intervention and mediation of the Mediation Committee.
Please place comments on the talk page, not here.
Structure of this page
editThe procedure for accepting requests is described in the Mediation policy. Important points:
- Be brief. Put a quick list of the nature of the complaints. Place the request itself on this page, rather than a subpage, but if you need to, link to detailed commentary and/or evidence in the standard template format elsewhere.
- You are required to place a notice on the user talk page that you have requested help from the Mediation Committee. You should confirm this by providing diffs of the notification at the bottom of your complaint.
- Please sign and date at least your original submission with "~~~~."
- New requests to the top, please.
New requests
edit- Please look into Wikipedia:Requests for comment/DreamGuy-2. It involves a number of people accusing one another of bad-faith editing, incivility, etc. I'm not personally involved but this RFC could use some external opinions to help them resolve the issue.
