Class Description edit

This is a 3 credit certificate course providing a comprehensive overview of the current developments and emerging trends in corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sustainability and Governance. The student intake is limited to facilitate debates and discussions. The learning approach is participatory and learner-centered with focus on outbound sensitization sessions.

Assignment Overview edit

Over the course duration, the students in this class will be completing a series of tasks that will allow them to familiarize themselves with the Wikipedia community and practices, understand the highly developed style of Wikipedia, complete research on a focused topic of the student's choice, and write (or substantially revise) a Wikipedia article. Students have two options to identify topics:

  • Students may work individually to develop articles pertaining to Corporate Social Responsibility in India/ the world
  • Students may build articles within a broader topic that needs improvement. The professor will identify these broad areas and students should each choose a sub-topic article to work on.

Article Selection edit

The Directory of WikiProjects is a good place to begin your search. You may also explore these categories:

You may also look for underdeveloped articles linked to one of the following articles:

The participants are also encouraged to create new articles on CSR – any subtopic pertaining to Indian /world CSR initiatives.

Please avoid topics like CSR of XYZ Corp unless the CSR has a much large impact.Ideally most of such articles would be sections in XYZ Corp and not a whole article Srikanth (Logic) 21:13, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

IMPORTANT edit

This project counts for 1 full credit. If you do not adhere to the time lines mentioned, you will be penalized marks wise for every missed deadline.

The acronym CSR has many meanings and the way we are using it is not the most widely used. The first time you use the acronym in an article, always do so as a "piped link" thus: [[corporate social responsibility|CSR]]. In article titles always spell it out in full, eg. Corporate social responsibility at Coca-Cola India not CSR at Coca-Cola India.
