Those uses of 00 are incorrect. 00 is the P sound, so it does not exemplify any "dental" sounds. They should already have been removed from those articles for being incorrect. 58 is a kissing sound. This is fair use as it is a map illustrating a topic relevant to the article. And unless Google Earth is The Creator or US government (hint: they are neither) they don't actually own the images of the Earth so there is no copyvio. Claims that it's copyrighted by virtue of their software generating the image is like me copyrighting WinXP because I drew the picture on the desktop. - Emt147 ^Burninate! 01:01, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, the image still isn't in the public domain. The images in Google Maps/Earth are copyright to the company that did the aerial photography:
"The photographic imagery made available for display through Google Local is provided under a nonexclusive, non-transferable license for use only by you." -- Google Maps terms of service

This image, GoogleMap of Garneau.JPG, is being linked to the article École Secondaire Catholic Garneau; though the picture is subject to copyright and WP:Fair use#Counterexamples indicates that it is generally not permissible to have a detailed map, scanned from a copyrighted atlas, or in this instance Google Map I (CyclePat) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

WP:Fair use#Counterexamples states that "the only context in which this might be fair use is if the map itself was a topic of a passage in the article: for example, a controversial map of a disputed territory might be fair use." As actually discussed with the main article of École Secondaire Catholique Garneau#Mapping and charting#Google Maps there are in fact contreversial map disputes about the territory.
1. For example: Garneau is located at 6588 carrier street, Orléans, Ontario. However, when trying to locate Garneau via Google Maps or Google Earth there are some discrepancies. This Google map which allegedly localizes Garneau High school actually pinpoints just in front of the MIFO. The Google map for MIFO, 6600 rue Carrière, is pinpointed at approximatelly the same location.
The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the subject of this article and how the the error actually exist within the google maps online software as well as google earth software.

- comment: See above comment. Also if you think that this is a content fork from the article google maps, and google earth, I think you may be digging a way to deep. Reluctantly implying that any article that talk about google maps or in this case an error in google maps is fork and should be merged to google map would be like saying any article that talk about water should be merged to water.
