LaTex not rendering when using MS-Edge. Local or global?

I've noticed this happens in MSEdge on and off, and there does not appear to be a pattern or obvious (to me anyway) reason. For example, on the page

equation (1) appears as

$ E^{2}=(p{\textrm {c}})^{2}+\left(m_{0}{\textrm {c}}^{2}\right)^{2}\, $

I tried different "tricks" in the editor, but nothing appears to work. Chrome and Firefox do not have this problem (this is probably also true for other html readers, but have not checked.

Edit Dutch pages

Hi, I have an account on en.wiki.. and am trying to turn it into a global account so I can edit nl.wiki.. pages because I am a native Dutch speaker and writer. It does not seem to work.. what should I do in.order to be able to edit nl.wiki pages?

According to a comment here, you may need to disable any browser option which says "Block third party cookies". Another suggestion I have seen is to explicitly log out (that is a link which, for me, appears at the top, right of any page). Then log in again. Referring to a young person who's the subject of an article ...

I'm editing an article on the young soon-to-be-canonized saint Carlo Acutis. He was only a teenager when he died. Throughout the article, he is referred to as Acutis. Somehow it seems to me that because of his youth, it would be more natural to refer to him as Carlo instead and I'd like to make that change article-wide.

have editor proofread and approve edits

Hello. I have been editing information for Gerard Karam. I have made edits, such as changed Arts to Science, in Education. Also added more details in bio. They revert back to original. Uploading new logo

Dear Wikipedia,

I am trying to upload another logo to the Armada Music Wikipedia page because it still has the old logo right now. They have changed their logo for a couple of years now, so I want to fix that. Now that I am trying to upload the logo Wikipedia says it's copyrighted. How am I able to upload the new logo to Wikipedia if I don't have the copyright, because now the information on the page is wrong? Madstew (talk) 13:49, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Logos are one of the cases when non-free images are frequently used in articles. Please see WP:LOGO for how to do it.

Far more significant than the logo is the poor quality of the sourcing: I'm not sure that even one of the sources meets the triple requirement of being reliable, independent, and containing significant coverage of the subject. Without several such sources, the label will not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. ColinFine (talk) 14:53, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Madstew If a logo is simple enough, it could be below the threshold of originality, which means it is in the public domain and cannot be copyrighted. Noel Ashman bio removed

Hi - I am trying to get Noel Ashman's page "unsalted" - apparently it was removed/taken down, after some contributors had added false information to it. The biography wasn't deleted because of 'false information'. It has however been deleted, repeatedly, because evidence that Ashman meets our notability guideline has not been provided: see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noel Ashman, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noel Ashman (2nd nomination) and Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Noel_Ashman_(3rd_nomination). Unsalting will require evidence that the guideline can if fact be met, through significant in-depth coverage in published reliable sources. I suggest you start by finding them, and linking them here. Nakba

good afternoon.

With relation to the'Nakba' how can someone call it Ethnic Cleansing when the Arab league attacked Israel? This is misinformation and should be changed for legal reasons to prevent more racial hatred. We need to state facts correctly. 1 million jews ethnically cleansed from Morocco to Iran is a correct statement, The Christian population of Lebanon being massacred is ethnic cleansing, 1 million Greeks displaced from Turkey in 1923 is ethnic cleansing. The Nakba article is about an attack on Palestinians (presumably Muslims), not an attack on Israel. Multiple reliable sources refer to the displacement of Palestinians as ethnic cleansing, and this is discussed in the article. Accidentally removed a talk page

Colonel Boglin

My father Colonel William N Boglin was one of a few Africa American Colonels of his time, he was the hospital administrator and director of medical education at Wilford Hall along with General Chong, he was also under the same Generals command at Malcom Grow. Which my father servers as hospital administrator. Hello. The answer to the question "Why isn't there a Wikipedia article on X?" is generally one or both of "Because nobody has written it yet" and "Because X does not currently meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability".

"Notable" in Wikipedia's sense, does not mean important, or famous, or popular, or innovatory, or influential, or anything like that, though it sometimes goes with these: it means, roughly, "there is enough information about the X published in reliable, independent sources, to base an article on".

So the question comes down to, did your father get written about (and not just rountine mentions about his career and appointments) in books, newspapers, magazines, unconnected with him and his associates? If the answer is yes, then it is possible there could be an article about him; otherwise, there cannot be an article, no matter how ground-breaking he was.

Getting an article written on a particular subject can be a challenge, unless you manage to inspire somebody to create it. You can requst an article at Requested articles, but in all honesty, few requests there actually get taken up. You might find somebody interested if you post at WT:WikiProject Military history, but there are no guarantees. (If you do some research yourself, and find some of the sources of the kind I mentioned above, that may make the project more attractive to somebody.)

Finally, you are allowed to try and create an article yourself. This is not recommended because of your conflict of interest, and it may make a challenging task even harder. I always advise new editors not to even try creating an article until they have several hundred edits and several weeks of editing under their belt, and have learnt about key policies such as verifiability, reliable sources, neutral point of view, and notability. please remind me how to remove a redirect

I believe I have done this before but am blanking on the procedure. Do I just blank the page or do I need to add a template, or?

Specifically, I added an interlanguage link from Michael Servetus#Imprisonment and execution to fr:Guillaume de Trie, who denounced him to the Inquisition as a heretic. The redirect of Guillaume de Trie to Roman Catholic Diocese of Bayeux and Lisieux is counterproductive and impairs readability. Also, while he was in fact Bishop of Bayeux at one point, this is not the most notable thing about him. He was subsequently Archbishop of Reims and tutor to Philippe VI of France, the first Valois. That is why I would change this.

Could someone please advise when they have a minute? I could of course hard code the link with the colon syntax, but this doesn't flag the term as a needed article and is not the preferred solution here. Thanks. Elinruby (talk) 23:40, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
