Publishing from sandbox

edit

Hi! I have a question about publishing my article from sandbox. It’s been more than 4 days and I cannot move my article from sandbox to public space. Can I get a little help please? Thank you! Sângeorzan Adrian (talk) 00:12, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This would get kicked right back to draft, so no. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 00:15, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you be more specific please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sângeorzan Adrian (talkcontribs)

@Sângeorzan Adrian: User:Sângeorzan_Adrian, User:Sângeorzan_Adrian/sandbox, Draft:Sangeorzan_Adrian, all appear to be the same draft. Please read WP:AUTO for why writing about yourself is a bad idea and is very strongly discouraged. If you persist, then read WP:YFA for how to make the draft ready for review. Focus on Draft:Sangeorzan_Adrian and when it is ready, use the button the page to submit it for review and if it is approved a reviewer will move it for you. RudolfRed (talk) 00:38, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can place {{Db-userreq}} on the two duplicate pages and an admin will delete those. RudolfRed (talk) 00:45, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bad link

Original article page/link… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Aviator_(soundtrack)

The area “Professional Ratings / Review Scores / Source / ScoreNotes Shows a link in the html source code as http://www.scorenotes.com/reviewArchive/aviator.html …but is redirected to… https://ibooked.no/scorenotes.html Which is selling a product? or at least a wrong link. I would also guess that link is referenced in other Wikipedia articles, as well.

The article is The Aviator (soundtrack) and it contains a raw URL link to http://www.scorenotes.com/reviewArchive/aviator.html which doesn't do anything useful for me. See LinkSearch. This should be raised at WP:ELN but I don't have time for that now. Johnuniq (talk) 03:58, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have corrected the link to the archived version https://web.archive.org/web/20121123063140/http://www.scorenotes.com/reviewArchive/aviator.html
I also brought it up on WP:ELN. ~Anachronist (talk) 03:59, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

unable to submit article for approval

edit

I am trying to publish an article from sandbox I am unable to find submit for approval button and the move button also not available. Please help me to resolve these issues.

url of article in sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rodiexjk/sandbox

@Rodiexjk: I have added the submit button to your draft, however, if it were to be submitted now, it would certainly not be accepted because it is completely unsourced. Wikipedia is not interested in a rerun of the Seigenthaler incident. Every claim you want to make about a living person must be accompied by an inline citation to a reliable source. About andhra Pradesh capitals

edit

As the capital issue is in honourable high court of A.P.how can you define three capitals forA.p..so kindly RECTIFY the issue and give correct information. Unless the court decides the issue keep the capital of A.p. as AMARAVATHI. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2402:8100:2842:3a23::de49:dd4f (talk) 11:46, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Patsy Rodenburg Wiki Page

edit

Hi Sir/Madame,

I am Patsy Rodenburg's PA, we're trying to edit Patsy's Wiki page but my edits do not save, would it be possible to make a correction on this page please?

1) Mention of Michael Howard Studios - From 2020 Patsy is no longer connected to Michael Howard Studios for her teacher training or workshops (visit www.patsyrodenburg.co.uk)

2) Personal life - would it be possible to remove this section please.

Many thanks,

Sonny on behalf of Patsy Rodenburg— Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbeycher (talkcontribs) 11 July 2021 12:08 (UTC)

Sbeycher, your edit has been reverted, as it does not demonstrate the content you removed violates Wikipedia's WP:BLP policy. You are strongly discouraged from directly editing the article, as you have a paid relationship with Rodenburg, and you must declare this on your user page at User:Sbeycher; you may use {{paid}} to do so. Please submit your proposed changes (with reliable sourcing and exactly what you want to change) as an edit request at Talk:Patsy Rodenburg, which is where you can also explain how the content you removed contravenes BLP. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 12:38, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Starting a new Wikipage

edit

I see there isn't a page for one of my favorite authors, Mark Goodwin. How do I go about making one? He has 31 books.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebrown82 (talkcontribs) 14:55, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ebrown82: First, make sure Mark notable by our definition (WP:NAUTHOR). If he is not notable, we will delete the article, and you will be frustrated. We really mean it. If he is notable, proceed to WP:YFA. -Arch dude (talk) 15:44, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How to edit/fix citations

edit

I recently noticed a citation with a corrupt URL. The edit source page did not display the source to the citation list so I could not fix the dead URL. Raven9nine (talk) 15:01, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Raven9nine the source code for an inline citation will be in the body of the text, not the citations section. Each reference has a superscript number which appears in the body of the text and in the citation list at the end. If you still can't find the citation, you can mention the article name here. TSventon (talk) 15:52, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TSventon thanks

How to create an article

edit

Hello, I can't create an article, I don't know why, can someone help me? How can I create an wikipedia article? Thanks. --SnowyWinterMagic5 (talk) 15:22, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SnowyWinterMagic5: First, pick a subject that is notable by our definition (WP:N). If the subject is not notable, we will delete the article, and you will be frustrated. We really mean it. If your subject is notable, proceed to WP:YFA. -Arch dude (talk) 15:41, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You tried to create an article (now pushed back to Draft:Hundsberg (Gschwend)). While inhabited places are usually notable, your version currently has zero sources. Every fact stated in a Wikipedia article needs to be capable of being verified by readers, who expect to see reliable preferably secondary sources for all the information they contain. You must not add original information you think you know which others cannot check. Mike Turnbull (talk) 16:44, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SnowyWinterMagic5 Mike Turnbull The article seems to be a partial translation of the de Wikipedia article de:Hundsberg (Gschwend). This needs to be attributed, see Help:Translation. The original article has several sources. TSventon (talk) 17:26, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How to request reassessment?

edit

The article MS Viking Grace is still shown as stub-class at the WikiProject Ships, despite being over 32 kilobytes long with 11 sections and over 40 references. This is because it had only ever been assessed once, in January 2012, when it was 2 kilobytes long and pretty much consisted of one sentence. How does one go about requesting a reassessment? JIP | Talk 16:07, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

JIP You can obviously ask here. I have reassessed it as C based on the WP Finland assessment. The automatic tool suggests B with 37 percent certainty, which suggests it is borderline B/C. TSventon (talk) 16:15, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see you have edited the template to change the class rating as C. So why does the rendered template say the class rating is "start"? JIP | Talk 16:18, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
JIP I don't know, if you don't get an answer here you could try Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships or Wikipedia talk:Content assessment. Please ping me if you find out. TSventon (talk) 16:40, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JIP: - it shows as Start class for WP:SHIPS because all the B class parameters are blank. Mjroots (talk) 19:43, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't found any documentation anywhere about what to actually put in those parameters. JIP | Talk 19:53, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JIP: Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships/Assessment gives Brig as an example of a B class article, so its parameters should be filled in correctly. TSventon (talk) 20:14, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TSventon: Apparently leaving them blank is not enough. I made a preview with {{WikiProject Ships|class=C|B1=no|B2=no|B3=yes|B4=yes|B5=yes}} and it showed the template with the class C instead of Start. I did not save the change as I don't feel comfortable assessing my own edits. JIP | Talk 01:37, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JIP: I think it's perfectly fine to assess your own articles-- I do it all the time using the automatic ORES tool in the rater script. If someone disagrees with your assessment, they will surely let you know. The ratings are also only used internally, so they have no impact on POV. --- Possibly 19:55, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TSventon: It's not "my" article, I don't own it. I don't work for Viking Line, my only connection to the ship is that I have travelled on it a couple of times. It's just that I've edited the article quite a bit. Anyway, I edited the assessment box to show that references and adequate coverage are not met, but structure, proper grammar and infobox and images are. This is the minimum for inclusion to class C. JIP | Talk 23:14, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JIP:, I would agree with @Possibly: for ratings up to C. I am sure Possibly meant the article you had partially written, rather than any other meaning of the word own. TSventon (talk) 23:19, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
