The ends of my columns are adding an extra line break

edit

I am adding parishes to the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Archdiocese_of_Newark#Parishes_of_the_Archdiocese_of_Newark.

I attempted to make the list into columns because it's quite long. The last item in each column has an extra line break before it and I cannot seem to fix it. Can anyone help please? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobespierreSE (talkcontribs) 00:14, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@RobespierreSE: I changed the formatting to bullets to make it match the rest of the article, and changed the template parameters. Check it out. Zachary Kirkhorn

edit

I googled "CFO of Tesla" I got the old one. Wikipedia missed that Zachary Kirkhorn at 34 years old is now the CFO of Tesla. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.20.173.91 (talk) 04:24, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That is Google's fault, not Wikipedia's. Tesla, Inc. accurately describes the CFO as Zach Kirkhorn. I recommend reporting the error to Google. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 05:13, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
... and it has said so since 2019-01-30, almost 13 months and 1000 edits ago! I wonder what it takes to get Google to re-read an article. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 07:19, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They read it within the last day. The problem is their attempt to automatically extract information from the Internet. The Google search CFO of Tesla shows a box saying "Ahuja, Deepak" and linking to Deepak Ahuja. That probably means Google thinks the article says he is the CFO. The lead says "He is most well known for being the former CFO of Tesla". The infobox says "Occupation Chief Financial Officer" and "Known for Tesla, Inc". Further reading says: Ahuja, Deepak. Tesla CFO Deepak Ahuja discusses Elon Musk and the auto industry – via Vimeo. Google quotes the latter which is the correct title of the linked page, but three years old. It can take dozens of feedback submissions and weeks if not months for Google to correct their errors. I just submitted feedback and will check Google as time goes on. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 19:23, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting

edit

There's some formatting issues with this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Eyre_(musical)

Thanks, K — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.55.2.36 (talk) 15:26, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Zoemfoster: has removed the referenced German production from the article without explaining what was wrong with it. They have also added a new production. Take it up with them on the article talk page. - X201 (talk) 15:39, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated images

How do charts that have outdated data get deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8.40.22.52 (talk) 15:47, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Any chart in particular? Is it an image of a chart or a graph that is coded into an article? If you'd stated which chart it was someone could edit it and update the data, hence no need to delete it. - X201 (talk) 15:51, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m pretty sure that the Queen of England was clear. No title associated with Megan Markle. Wikipedia needs to remove the title they have in regards. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.155.218.198 (talk) 17:08, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Which title are you referring to? Please see the section in the article titles, styles, and arms. She is still known as the Duchess of Sussex but expected to not use 'Royal Highness' in the future. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. I guess you refer to the title of the article. It's discussed at Talk:Meghan, Duchess of Sussex#Title of the article. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:03, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please note; There hasn't been a Queen of England for more than 300 years! Elizabeth II is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or if you'd like to shorten that "British Queen" is acceptable. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:19, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How do you make a new article????

Im new and i need help about this — Preceding unsigned comment added by TylerFire235 (talkcontribs) 18:00, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@TylerFire235: Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for wanting to add to it. Look at WP:YFA for how to create a new article. This is not an easy task, so the usual advice is to work on improving existing articles until you have some Wikipedia experience before trying to create an article. For learning, there is the WP:TUTORIAL and the interactive learning game at WP:ADVENTURE. RudolfRed (talk) 18:04, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing a reference to a dead/usurped url

edit

{{Cite web}} has a url-status=usurped option which the docs say disable the hyperlink, but apparently this only works if an archive URL is also supplied. The citation I am trying to fix is of a link to a web page which has been usurped by a domain reseller, and I cannot find the original content in any of the web archives I'm aware of.

This is what I have currently:

{{cite web|url=http://www.transitkings.com/TransitKings/WaitingRoom.html|title=Unknown|type=Transit Kings' official biography|url-status=usurped}}
"Unknown" (Transit Kings' official biography).{{cite web}}: CS1 maint: url-status (link)

I'd like help to (in order of priority) either rescue the reference, or disable the hyperlink.

In the second case, am I supposed to remove the reference altogether if it's no longer on the web (WP:V)?

(Please ping if you reply). --kingboyk (talk) 21:10, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kingboyk: No, don't remove the citation, even if the link no longer works. You can mark it with the dead link template. See WP:KDL. RudolfRed (talk) 21:16, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, we don't normally remove the ref. See WP:Link rot. --David Biddulph (talk) 21:15, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added information (I think is important) to a page and it was removed.

edit

I added some information to List of Skittles and it was removed. If I can not add the info I would appreciate someone else would add it. (the info I was trying to add was about Skittles Chewies). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 9010shoe (talkcontribs) 21:12, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@9010shoe: Welcome to Wikipedia. This is part of the normal process, see WP:BRD. You were bold and made changes. Someone disagreed and reverted. Next step is for you to start a discussion on the article's talk page about the changes. RudolfRed (talk) 21:19, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
