Can someone plz find th950's movie Geeta Dutt song " O matwale matwale". Thanks

I'd try a search engine , but be sure to use no leading space before the "O".
F#$%! The only thing I hit with th950 "Geeta Dutt" "O matwale matwale" is this very Helpdesk entry. Maybe some words are misspelled?
Oh SineBot, where art thou?
Omitting "th950" seems to work though - google returns hamaraforums.com - Hope that helps. - ¡Ouch! (hurt me / more pain) 06:42, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

finding the answer to a previously submitted question

edit

I successfully posted a question on the reference desk. I thought I was supposed to find the answer (if any)posted in the archive link from that page, but when I went to the archive I couldn't figure out what it was telling me or how to use/search it. Is that the correct place to look for answers to posted questions or somewhere else? If it is the correct spot where to I find info on how to use it?Patarmom (talk) 00:28, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help with formatting glitch

edit

There's some sort of formatting glitch at Redneck Friend that is causing a mess that I can't figure out. Something is wrong with the way the article is bolding, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Can someone take a look and see what they can come up with? Thanks! --Jayron32 02:49, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Jayron32: - There's one thing VE is good for! Fixing this!   Done ~Charmlet -talk- 02:58, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Bonzer! --Jayron32 03:30, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Another way to fix the "'bold + italics followed by an apostrophe" glitch is by using Template:'. Example: bold + italics followed by an apostrophe'. jonkerz ♠talk 13:07, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Want to Edit the Infobox

edit

I am working for the prasoonjoshi.com.... The requirement was to update some pages on the wkipedia server which is given below.

Hum Tum- after music by Lyrics :- Prasoon Joshi
Fanaa  :- after music by Lyrics :- Prasoon Joshi
Ghajini:- after music by Lyrics :- Prasoon Joshi
Delhi 6 :- after music by Lyrics :- Prasoon Joshi
Rang de Basanti :- after music by Lyrics :- Prasoon Joshi & after story by Dialogues :- Prasoon Joshi

We have updated the infobox of Hum Tum by adding the parameter (lyrics = [Prasoon Joshi]) but the changes was not reflecting.

Kindly advise me for the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.63.206.38 (talk)

Infoboxes only accept certain parameters. See Template:Infobox film for the documentation. There is no lyrics parameter. Given your conflict of interest it would be better to make suggestions on the talk page with {{Request edit}}. PrimeHunter (talk) 10:46, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help for hire

edit

I would like to hire (pay) someone to help me design a few wikipedia pages. Who can I contact? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mieczkowski (talkcontribs)

Wikipedia is a volunteer community, and people who are paid to edit are usually regarded with some suspicion as it's likely they have a conflict of interest. You can always take your suggestion to a relevant WikiProject and see if people think your article ideas qualify for inclusion. If they do, there will be people happy to help create it on the same grounds that all other articles are; for free.  drewmunn  talk  11:09, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One of the reasons why editing for hire is regarded with suspicion is Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interest. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and strives for neutral point of view, and people and organizations that hire editors usually want the articles to be promotional in nature. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:17, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
More to the point: There is no central list of "approved" editors who do Wikipedia work for pay, and it's unlikely that any of the volunteers who post answers here, at the Help desk, are going to personally recommend someone (for the reasons noted above). Sorry. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 21:01, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmmm Let me put it another way. I do not undersand Wikipedia jargon. Is there a dummies guide?Mieczkowski (talk) 01:30, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Babel template help

edit

Can someone please tell me what else I need to do? KellyEfird (talk) 12:18, 5 July 2013 (UTC)KellyEfird[reply]

Thank you, but can someone please explain or teach me how to put those templates? Thank you.KellyEfird (talk) 12:23, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed in [1]. You had the correct code but you tried to add it with the new VisualEditor which is activated on the "Edit" tab. The VisualEditor has its own system to add templates and it (controversially) adds <nowiki>...</nowiki> tags when an editor tries to write template code directly. On the "Edit source" tab you can add templates in the way they are documented. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:26, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I just noticed that the "official link" on the German Kino Plus website (German Kino Plus) links to a mallious code download of Adobe Flash.

Please remove link ASAP!

Thank you,

Frank

I have removed the link. You could have edited the article yourself to remove it, by the way. Looie496 (talk) 15:32, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Jefferson death subject

edit

Thomas Jefferson's profile page is missing the common death subject all historical figures have. Please add an accurate as soon as possible, please and thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.216.162.65 (talkcontribs) 15:21, 5 July 2013‎

First you are going to have to explain what a "common death subject" is as I have no idea what you are talking about. Next the place to ask for fixes to articles is on the article's talk page, in this case, Talk:Thomas Jefferson. GB fan 15:32, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Are you referring to a section with heading "Death"? The article has the section Thomas Jefferson#Final days. That seems OK to me. Many articles don't have a section with the specific heading "Death". PrimeHunter (talk) 15:38, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! When articles on people have a section called "Death", it's typically for unnatural deaths (accidents, homicide, suicide). Bye! --NaBUru38 (talk) 16:57, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure that's correct.--ukexpat (talk) 14:29, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Interlanguage page moves

edit

Hello all, I have come across a Mandarin language article on the English wikipedia, 哥德堡港. It is about the Port of Gothenburg, a subject not currently covered on the Mandarin Wikipedia. Is there anybody who can move it between different-language editions of Wikipedia? Passengerpigeon (talk) 16:01, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that the article has been deleted, presumably because it wasn't in English. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:35, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Statement concerning my personal information ==

To the folks at Wikipedia:

I am a journalist and a writer. I reside in New York City, U.S.A. I became privy to a number of articles referencing my person yesterday within your organization..........I do not care either way if you publish an article on myself for the public or not...But if you do not somebody else will definitely do so, indeed many encyclopedic organizations will do so.......So I am at your service in the sense that I am here to help..........You may contact me at (Redacted) since you instructed that I can not leave my personal email.........

Be well...........

Respectfully yours,

If you are aware of articles referring to yourself, you may post to their talk pages. It isn't clear what else you are asking. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:33, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you want an article created about you, first check to see if you are notable. If so, then you can post a request at WP:RA. Any information in the article will need to come from reliable sources. RudolfRed (talk) 20:33, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/John zwerenz. Two attempts at article creation: both declined, one for lack of evidence for meeting notability guidelines, and another for lack of sources. I can't find any evidence that Zwerenz has been cited as a source for an article. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:42, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And Zwerenz's latest book [2] appears to be self-published. [3] AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:50, 5 July 2013 (UTC) I was made aware by more than one party that there is quasi biographical material on your firm's website concerning my person. Please respect my wishes and retract any such matter from Wikipedia and any other satellite branches which you oversee or own. My privacy is imperative to me. I do not desire in any manner to have the burden of public exposure cast upon my shoulders in regards to any private details concerning my history or any information on my person whatsoever. Thank you. Signed John Lars Zwerenz[reply]

I have tried repeatedly to edit my own bio and the changes will not show up.

I don't understand why they won't show up, but they don't.

Thanks,

Your changes were reverted as unsourced. Any material in an article must come from a published reliable source. Please read the note that was left on your talk page. RudolfRed (talk) 20:36, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You edited [4] the "SHORT DESCRIPTION" field in the Persondata metadata at the bottom. As the name hints it should be short, and Persondata is not displayed in articles. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:09, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Brookbound

edit

I came across your article on The National Register of Historic Places in Columbia County in New York State. My home is on The National Register but is not listed. I couldn't figure out how to do that so here is a link to my web site which has the plaque pictured and some history about the house. It's name is Brookbound.

www.brookboundmanor.com

On the home page, if you click on the plaque you'll be taken to a page that discusses it. Brookbound was placed on The National Register in 1997.

Thank you, Martin J Davidson Owner ˜˜˜˜

I added a header to your question. RudolfRed (talk) 20:36, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Harmon Miller House. I've edited that article, to add your website. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 20:53, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How to get rid of "visual editor"?

edit

I am wondering, how to get rid of this visual editor feature? I mean, when I click the "edit this page" tab, it is totally different than before. There is also an "edit source" tab as well, which is normal editing. What's the deal? Is there a way I can get it back to original? I am sure others have asked this. Tinton5 (talk) 20:02, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I figured it out!! Tinton5 (talk) 20:05, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations. You discovered how to turn off the new editor that is meant to be more user-friendly than using Wiki markup, but has its own kind of user-unfriendliness because it has bugs. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:21, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Visual Editor doesn't have bugs, it is a bug! Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 19:02, 7 July 2013 (UTC) [reply]

HOW DO I GET RID OF LANGUAGE SETTINGS

edit

DEAR WIKIPEDIA, I LOVE LOVE SITE BUT I HAVE A PEEVE IT IS A LANGUAGE SETTING HOW DO I GET RID OF IT PERMANENTLY PLEASE HELP AND ADVISE ME

SINCERELY, GLEEFAN222013

Please turn off capslock. And what do you mean by "Language setting"? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 21:31, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
First, on the Internet, the use of ALL CAPS is considered to be SHOUTING and is disliked and annoying, which is why Jeremy asked you to turn it off. Second, you may be referring to an option in the Preferences in User Profile where you can change the language of certain messages to British English or Canadian English, or, apparently, a long list of foreign languages. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:54, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Or mw:Universal Language Selector, which was recently enabled? PleaseStand (talk) 07:08, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for old AfD discussion page

I'm looking for an article that was deleted within the past month or so. I thought it was titled "Kenneth Lewis (sound engineer)", but I can't find it in the deletion log or among my contributions (I voted thumbs down). Clarityfiend (talk) 21:46, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
