This image is taken from here. After uploading it, quality takes a hit. Much more pixelated. PNG and JPG are giving me the same results. Suggestions?-- « Ryūkotsusei » 01:38, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I saved the file from the link you gave as a png then cropped it, resized it, and saved it as a png. The quality looks much better now (be sure to clear your cache to see it). Pbroks13 (talk) 14:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. Thanks. « Ryūkotsusei » 15:31, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Needs SVG. There are other files of vertical flags that needed SVG. For the Civil flag of Italy (1861-1946) 2 by 3 size hanging version, can you remove the pole to show only the flag? Thanks. -- RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talk) 02:08, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@TilmannR: Since Chad and Romania had the same flag, please make a vertical flag based on Chad's flag. Also the other files are on Commons, so if you can do them. I would appreciate it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talkcontribs) 10:16, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Font identification - I can handle making this into a correct SVG myself, but does anyone know what font is used for the 'Western Electric' text.-- The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 22:39, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
@The Navigators: It appears to just be Helvetica. Using Nimbus Sans in Inkscape with between-letter spacing of -2 matches up just perfectly. By the way, I'm pretty sure this logo is {{PD-textlogo}} and therefore free. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 02:41, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AntiCompositeNumber: I thought it might be, thanks for the help. I might have to take license for all these old bell system logos up with the folks at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions‎, because about half the logos are under "PD Textlogo" the other half are under the "Non-free logo", they're identical aside from the company name.{{resolved}}

Request - Font identification - Pennsylvania Agency Logos

File:Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.svg Example of a logo with the font. (Logo Non-Free, thus is hidden.)

Article(s)
Several: Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and other Pennslvaina agencies lacking a logo.
Request
Okay, any ideas what fonts are used in this logo. It would seem the 'pennsylvania' is different from the 'Department of Human Services'.
I was able to get the keystone logo from several agencies off the state website as SVGs, but they lack the accompanying text. I can handle making a complete logo but not quite sure what fonts are being used.
(Side question: is this an approprtate place for this question, or should I be taking this sort of question elsewhere?)-- The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 23:16, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
@The Navigators: Yes, this is an appropriate place to ask. Many images in PDF files can be extracted and saved as an SVG file; see Wikipedia:Graphics Lab/Resources/PDF conversion to SVG#Extracting part of a PDF. Essentially, just save the pdf, open it with Inkscape, degroup the file elements in the file until you can get what you need, and delete the rest. Let me know if that answers your question or if you need any help with the process! Pbroks13 (talk) 04:20, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@The Navigators: I completely misunderstood what you were requesting. It looks like "Department of Human Services" uses "Felbridge Pro Regular", and Pennsylvania uses "Felbridge Pro Bold".

I downloaded the SVG image you linked as a high-res PNG, and uploaded it at What the Font. Pbroks13 (talk) 22:21, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine and thanks for the link to that 'What the Font' site, that looks like it'll be quite useful.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 01:39, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
