WikiProject Wiki-Histories will serve as the hub for all Wikipedia community events, content work, and community collaboration on articles related to the Wiki-Histories at Khoj in New Delhi, India and related topics. Wiki-Histories is an archival internship that seeks to train participants to edit Wikipedia in order to add biographies of contemporary Indian artists. If you are interested in expanding this program to your institution or the documentation, please leave your username in the participants section. If you have any questions feel free to post them on the talk page.

Scope edit

The project aims to train art history students, historians, art professionals and others interested to edit English Wikipedia and learn about its rules and nuances such as writing BLPs in order to utilize information from the archives of KHOJ, international artists' association, a non-profit dedicated to supporting contemporary Indian art.

Plans edit

  • to upload images of much of the material in Khoj archives to public domain
  • to train the above listed stakeholders who are already familiar with contemporary Indian art in editing without violating Conflict of Interest guidelines
  • to write biographies of artists, highlight art institutions that are currently unmapped on Wikipedia
  • to illustrate articles with images donated by Khoj and to properly categorize these images at Wikimedia Commons
