Edited to remove frame and dust.

Reason: It's a nice photo, but I feel this picture doesn't meet the standards of today's featured pictures. It was promoted to FP in 2004, but probably would not make FP if nominated today.

comment - It's not terrible technically. It was shot at the South Pole, which earns it points for rarity of the shot, but the phenomenon it illustrates, light halos, seems to be fairly ubiquitous.
