OriginalCharles Landseer's 1845 portrayal of King Charles I's war council prior to the Battle of Edgehill. The King stands centre wearing a blue sash; Prince Rupert of the Rhine is sat next to him, while The Prince of Wales (later Charles II) and the Duke of York (later James II) are the two boys behind Prince Rupert's back.
Reason
The image has high educational value. The Battle of Edgehill was one of the first significant battles of the English Civil War. I am inexperienced at FP, so I am less well placed to judge the quality, but it looks to be good to me; apologies if I'm mistaken.
