  • ‘’’Comment’’’ I am not here to vote but to note that the mango in the picture is a mango grown in Brazil similar to the ones I find the local supermarket in the New World’s northern continent. I would submit that encyclopedic precision and due weight in nomenclature would be better served if the unadorned name “mango” is reserved for the mangoes of South Asia, the region in which the fruit was domesticated and where there are dozens if not hundreds of cultivars. This picture should be called “Mango grown in Brazil.” The picture does not belong to the lead of mango either. It should be moved to another section.
