Tasmanian Darner edit

Voting period is over. Please don't add any new votes. Voting period ends on 25 Jul 2010 at 09:49:18 (UTC)

Original - Tasmanian Darner (Austroaeschna tasmanica), female, on the Edge of Lake Will, Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania Australia

Alt - (suggest file rename if it gets promoted or anything)
Reason
I think that this one had only very recently emerged from it's exuvia - it was sitting beside Lake Will, drying its wings. I didn't really have any macro gear on me, but by taking many shots to get a sharp one I was able to get something decent thanks to the obliging subject. I post an alt as I'm not sure which to pick though maybe the first has slightly better EV.

  • Support pref orig Beautiful picture, but pref for first as too much of the insect is out of focus for my liking in the alt... Gazhiley (talk) 10:56, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I like the angle of the alt a little better, too bad about the focus at the end, though. --I′d※<3※Ɵɲɛ (talk) 02:03, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support original like the side profile, better EV and more of the insect is in focus. — raeky (talk | edits) 02:34, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support either, the focus is great. J Milburn (talk) 10:03, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support original. The background/perch is rather distracting in the alt version.--ragesoss (talk) 01:09, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
