1959 Edsel Corsair convertible.

As I was reading about the Edsel, this image stood out, because its depth of focus (am I saying this correctly?) makes the car "pop" against the greyish, out-of-focus background. I had to do a double-take to see if it was a real car or a model. The focal point of the image seems crisp and bright and adds nicely to the article. Plus, I haven't noticed any car photos as Featured Pic recently, so this one might be nice. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of the top cropped away, but I'm not even sure that's necessary. Well-framed, well-lit, good angle & general composition.

Comment. I'm going to look & see if I have a larger version. However, I don't think this represents the best of my car photos. The cropping is tight because of the (then) severe limits on image size recommended, and the same reason accounts for the size of course. Oppose FPC's should be Wikipedias very best work and this isn't it, an original dealership sales brochure image would be better IMO. - Aslan9
Comment. If it weren't for the small size, and if it was realy sharp, it would be a killer picture. DOF and lighting work beautifully and make the car stand out against a blurry grayish background. The Highlights on the hood make it look really shiny. --Dschwen 10:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
