Well, this is Obama, who has been on internet comedy shows and obviously cultivates a young "with it" image. Not to mention it is fairly common for government leaders to wear casual clothing... The photographer Pete Souza responded to criticisms of Obama's informal clothes on Twitter by posting photos of Ronald Reagan also dressed casually in the Oval Office on the weekend (see 3 March at https://twitter.com/petesouza).
