The 2012 Pacific hurricane season featured above-average activity, but minimal impact and fatalities (fortunately). The second sentence is a bit long. I would suggest ending it at "both basins" and then "These dates conventionally".

Is there a reason that the first three tropical depressions are designated by a number and the rest by number and -E?
- Oops. In the Atlantic, depressions just get a number designation, while in the East Pacific, they get a number and "-E" to denote the basin. It's a mistake that I've corrected. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 22:21, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You mention seventeen tropical depressions, but with ten and thirteen you do not mention them but go straight to the storm. Is there a reason for this?

  - Thanks but now I am even more confused. If I understand correctly, cyclone is a generic term covering various strengths such as tropical storm and hurricane, so how can a cyclone strengthen to become a tropical storm? Dudley Miles (talk) 22:49, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Support - seems comparable to other featured timelines. Only one point of concern- "East Pacific—defined as the region east of 140°W—and on June 1 in the central Pacific—defined as the region east of 140°W to the International Date Line" - so the central Pacific is located entirely inside the East Pacific? Comments some minor technical details...

"A few weeks later" a little loose for an encyclopedia.
In the timeline you have "less than or equal to 39 mph" as TD and "equal to or more than 39mph but less than 73mph" for TS, meaning 39mph could be a TD and a TS.
"1200 UTC (8:00 a.m. PDT)" four hours difference vs "0000 UTC (5:00 p.m. PDT May 14)" seven hours difference?
"1,055 km" vs "1330 km" consistency with commas please.
" Saffir-Simpson" needs an en-dash.
Not sure, but we've been tending to move away from the use of the semi-colon to make bold text, I believe it has issues for WP:ACCESS.
A lot of editors, me included, who access PDF files of multiple pages look for a page reference so they don't have to scour the whole thing to find the data they're looking for.

Support (having stumbled here from my FLC discussion page). The list page is most educational and encyclopedic. It is meticulously sourced throughout to appropriate citations. My only minor quibble is the title Notes for that subsection: Notes usually refers to Harvard Citations followed by a References section with the full Citations -- this type of section should be called Footnotes.
