Comment: I suppose current players can be indicated with a highlight and a '*', as discussed at WikiProject hockey. Also, the "Games played" and "goals" key could probably be done in {{abbr}} to make them tooltip, like I've seen used in other hockey articles. eg.   • Is it correct to say in 1944-45 and not in the 1944-45 season?
  • When discussing historical events, it is typical to simply refer to the season by its years alone. IMO, "1944-45" is no better or worse than "1944-45 season", except that I would prefer not to have a couple dozen instances of the word "season". Resolute 16:35, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 50-goal seasons were relatively common in the 1970s and 1980s as offense increased across the league but have declined in frequency since the mid 1990s. -- mid 1990s should have a dash in between

  • I disagree on CNN/SI. The website is a partnership between the two, and the online content does not typically originate from either individually. Ref #11 is what I meant by the inconsistency. Not neccesarily, CNN publishes the magazine on their site (hence the sportsillustrated.cnn.com) and at the bottom of the site it does say copyright CNN.--Truco 503 01:08, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ref 11 is from a Sports Illustrated article itself, reproduced on SI's vault website. CNNSI doesn't re-publish SI's magazine content. Their online content is separate, and is CNN and SI's effort to compete with ESPN for online sports coverage. Resolute 01:48, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Perhaps the number of times a player reached the milestone should be given it's own column, then one would be able to quickly find out which players scored 50 in a certain amount of seasons. Also, would it be possible to add some kind of indicator of which players led the league in goals scored to the table? Yes, one can figure that out already, but some kind of indicator would help. If not, I think the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy should be mentioned somewhere in the history section. Otherwise, great work. -- Scorpion0422 21:16, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I had thought about highlighting league leaders, but decided that that effectively duplicates content at the Richard Trophy article. I wonder if other reviewers have an opinion on that? Certainly open to adding it. Putting number of times reached could be moved to a separate column, but would having a sort that basically goes Bossy (9), Gretzky (9), Bossy (8), Gretzky (8), Bossy (7), Gretzky (7), etc add any benefit? I'll have to contemplate how to discuss the Richard trophy... but will be when I have more time.   • Lead image caption needs a period.
  • I know the history section is a good length, but a single paragraph lead just feels really lightweight.
  • "Joe Malone scored 44 goals for the Montreal Canadiens – in 20 games – in the NHL's inaugural season of 1917–18. It was a record that stood nearly 30 years.[2] " merge so "18, a record that stood..."
  • "dramatically" seems a little POV, especially since you've just mentioned a guy who got 44 in the inaugural season, and after said "dramatic" increase you mention six guys who just made it over 30...
  • " averaged a goal per game in" if we don't know how many games he played, this is meaningless...
  • " 50 goal mark" or "50-goal mark" - be consistent.
  • All the images with complete sentences for captions need periods.
  • Does "Rocket" have a citation?
  • "however it has since remained rare for a player to achieve this milestone" not too sure about this. Six players in the last three seasons doesn't seem that rare to me.
  • Ref 19 - New York Times should be The New York Times.
