Oppose a bunch of nit-picks
- " first few concerts " and " first couple of years" and "A few performances" a little loose and colloquial for me.
- "such as", "such as", perhaps make the first or second an "including"
- "Since 1982, Metallica has performed on all populated continents. The band has performed in live events every year (with the exception of 2001) in a total of over 1600 shows." would merge these (so removing "The band has performed" and adding "including" perhaps), and 1,600 instead of 1600.
- Question: What's a "world tour"? You have to caveat your description with the "During these tours, South Africa as well as several countries in Central and South America, Asia, and Oceania were visited" sentence, which made me think, what constitutes a world tour?
- the band has named their tours (or part of their tours) as "X World Tour" on seven occasions. Any idea how to clarify this?
- "played multiple times at major rock festivals, including Woodstock '94," just a curious point, did Metallica actually play "multiple times at ... Woodstock '94"?
- "of which the most notable are" is that your opinion?
- "Raven,Anthrax" space needed.
- "bands third album" perhaps "band's third album"...
- "Metallica went on the same festival tour the second year in a row," comma after "tour" here.
- "Lars Ulrich got hospitalized, " -> Ulrich "was" hospitalized?
- Be consistent when linking in the references, e.g. look at how you link ref 11 vs other MTV links.
- If ref 34 is a book, it needs an ISBN, it needs an en-dash for the page range, and it probably needs to use {{cite book}} to be perfect.
- Refs 47-49 & 51 have author name first, last while Ref 50 and others have author name last, first.
- changed all to last, first
- Your 1.6m attendees in the lead suddenly becomes "unofficial estimates" in the list. Slightly misleading.
- slightly modified from approx. to unoff.
- You link Oakland, Cali, but not Pontiac, Michigan... Be consistent throughout the whole list.
- "selling out over 93 out of the almost 500" "over 93"? What, 94? Perhaps "nearly one in five..."?
- I have found references with 93 sellouts out of some 200 shows and I have not found more references to fill the gap from that 200 to the current total. That's why it is formulated like this. Weirdly, the total is 350ish not 500.
- The reference gives 93 out of 187. In reality Metallica doubled the total performances with the World Magnetic Tour. Is the formulation ok now?
- No, because where do you get "350" from? The source says 93/187. You need another source if you're going to say 137. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:45, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- " album Garage Inc..[61]" don't think you need the second full stop.
- the name is "Garage Inc." with a full stop in the title. Does it mean I have to remove the full stop that signifies the end of the sentence if it is one in the name?
- Ditto in next row.
- "Several special gigs" - why "special"?
- because the refs I saw names them just "Special gigs". No idea why though.
- Okay, I'll check and see. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:55, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Note [2] is unreferenced and makes no note of "special gig". The Rambling Man (talk) 18:56, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Fansites like this list them as such, but the official website does not explicitly name the performance under a specific tour. Nergaal (talk) 19:15, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- So I would suggest a more neutral name if you have no official way to refer to them. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:16, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- What makes either of the external links reliable?
- do they have to be? they seem to be the most comprehensive fansites with the concerts listed
- Why would an encyclopedia list websites that it wouldn't consider reliable? The Rambling Man (talk) 18:45, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Removed the fansite link. Nergaal (talk) 19:15, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- The other one is the webside that the official website links to for tours (so I am guessing it is an official tour website) Nergaal (talk) 19:29, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Looks like it needs a subscription so that should be in the template. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Rambling Man (talk) 17:22, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I've tried to fix all the issues listed (other than the external links and the special gigs thing. Nergaal (talk) 18:49, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
