I am nominating this for featured list because because I feel it meets the FL criteria and follows a similar design to current FLs such as List of Bermuda ODI cricketers. The list is also complete and as Hong Kong don't play at this level anymore, it is unlikely to change in the near future. It was previously a featured list just over four years ago and was on my radar early in 2012 to promote to FL, but time never permitted me to complete the nomination. Feedback most welcome!   • "A ODI differs" should be An ODI -  Done
  • "Hong Kong have never gained ODI status in their own right, but have been accorded ODI status twice on a temporary basis for participation in the Asia Cup, in which the matches played held ODI status." Think this could do with a reference.  Comment: - If only I could find one! Looked long and hard, with no luck thus far.
  • Is the name sorting correctly? It appears to be a cross between first and last name  Comment: Pakistani players are generally sorted by first name, see here and per a discussion here. Nine of Hong Kong's squad alone in the 2008 Asian Cup were born in Pakistan.

  • Second para has "Hong Kong" nine times in seven sentences. Need to work on the prose here.  Done
  • I think there's some need here to explain that I'm struggling to find a single one of these cricketers who was actually from Hong Kong....  Not done - Can't see their nation of birth being relevant as the list is about those who have played for the team, not where they were from.

Nudge. You could just add something like "most of whom were born outside Hong Kong" or something similar....   • For a 20 players' list, the lead is very long.  Comment: - It follows the same lead layout as other featured lists of international cricketers, giving a brief background and overview of key points.
  • In the 2nd para, you are talking about Hong Kong Cricket Association and their ODI status. I think this is unrelated to the list.  Done - You're right, too much information. Removed.
  • No need of (pictured) in the image caption.  Done
  • You are using "its" and "they", for consistency this should be either its or they.  Done
  • In the table, consistency in sorting the names is required.  Not done - Some are Pakistani by birth, hence sort by first name (as appears on scorecards), while non-Pakistani names are sorted by last name. What would you suggest as a way around this? Shall I ignore the sorting rule and sort all by last or all by first name?
  • Bowling ave. and Eco. columns do not sort correctly, I think.  Comment: - Looks fine to me.

  • Don't you think (–) is better than 28.25 in Bowling ave. coulumn? Same for Eco. column. I guess ideally you would have the figures sortable and (–) non-sortable within a column, so (–) always stays at the bottom.[reply]

  • For the request for a reference for the part saying they were afforded temporary ODI status, as big as the internet is, I can find no source for that. I don't have either the 2007 or 2009 Wisden Almanack, so perhaps it is mentioned in there somewhere. For now I have included a note explaining why they were given temporary ODI status.   • Tabarak Dar is liked twice in the lead.  Done - Delinked.
  • Ref #6 isn't working now.  Comment: - Seems the Cricket Canada site is having technical issues. I'll give it a few days to come back online with that content (literally the only reference I could find for them qualifying for the World Cup Qualifer, oddly).
  • Link 2004 and 2008 Asia Cups in FN.  Done
  • Add (Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates) after "two leading Associate Members" instead of including it at the second occurrence.  Done
