World War II edit

previous FAC

I think this article should be a FA because it is a very large and sought after topic. It is well written and has a decent amount of sources for the length of the article. --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 21:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose I've been keeping an eye on this article for about a year, and while it's in reasonably good condition, it wouldn't meet the criteria for A-class, much less FA class. Some material is uncited and the 'Concentration camps and slave work' section needs to be revised. With all respect to the nominator, they have only been registered on Wikipedia for a few days and have not made any contributions to the article, so this is a 'drive by nomination'. Moreover, there is a consensus that significant changes to this article need to be discussed before they are made, so a group effort is needed to progress the article through a FAC. • Suggest a speedy withdrawal - "drive by" nominations, especially for well-trafficked articles like this one, are frowned upon. The nominator really should have discussed this with the article's principle editors first. I also concur with Nick; the article, while not terrible, is not even A-class material. Article importance does not equal article quality. Parsecboy (talk) 23:46, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, no where near the standards of WIAFA. Plus, drive-by nominations are an extreme no-no. Suggest immediate withdrawal -MBK004 01:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
