- Article has had no prior preparation for FAC, no PR, GAN or informal review. While these stages are not mandatory prerequisites, successful FAC nominations are almost invariably preceded by one or more of them.
- The article seems heavily reliant on popular media as it sources. This gives the article an episodic, trivial feel. Thus we have, in continuous prose: "On December 1965, her husband, Ferdinand, was elected as the 10th President of the Philippines and she served as First Lady. Later in July 1966, Imelda became involved in an altercation with the Beatles when they toured the Philippines after they unintentionally snubbed her, failing to attend a breakfast reception at Malacañang. The snub was broadcast on Philippine television and radio. In an attempt to hold on to power, her husband declared martial law on September 23, 1972".
- Even the briefest glance-through indicates examples of clunky prose (" The marriage resulted in three children: Imee, Ferdinand, Jr., and Irene. She also adopted a girl named Aimee ") and of non-encyclopaedic, judgemental statements, e.g. "One of her excesses included sending a plane..." These examples underline the lack of preparation of the article against the stringent FA criteria – neutrality, professional-quality prose, best available sources etc.
