Decolonization of Africa – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 362 daily hits

  • Yet another Africa-related article that I'm nominating. The event obviously had a huge impact on both the history and politics on the continent, as well as in international relations nowadays. It definitely needs better citations, more information, and restructuring of the sections. Secret Saturdays (talk to me)what's new? 20:38, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The ClueFinders – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 100 daily hits

Completely nostalgic for me... not to mention an incredible series of edutainment games. I've recently made a concerted effort to make all the [{Carmen Sandiego]] related articles much better. I am dismayed that these guys are in as bad a shape as the CS ones. We can do better... :)--Coin945 (talk) 08:33, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Bean (character) – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 0 (~7000 for Me Bean. 12000 today for some weird reason. daily hits

Mr. Bean (the article on the TV show) is a GA, but all we have on this iconic character creation of Rowan Atkinson is 3 measley paragraphs in the aformentioned page...and "Mr. Bean (character)" doesn't even redirect to the section...   Cracker (food) – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 259 daily hits

  • Has no reliable sources, reads almost like a hoax. Article's history of the invention of the cracker is suspect. Article only treats saltines.   Pornhub – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 3550 daily hits

Deep down I know this will never get supported, but I feel it must get mentioned here regardless. While investigating our article on the most viewed websites, I discovered that this extremely popular porn site has an Alexa traffic ranking of 68. That is phenomenally high. The article is utterly woeful, unfortunately... How are our 3550 daily readers going to have access to quality information about their favourite internet pit-stop without our help?--Coin945 (talk) 15:15, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. What secondary sources exist to help improve this article? Could not the bulk for the hits be accidental, such as from people leaving their browser's search pull-down menu set on Wikipedia? Abductive (reasoning) 20:23, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Quite a lot of stuff actually. I found a couple of sources the other day and added them into the article. A couple of google books and google news hits I found after a quick search include:

Pornhub and paedophilia, Pornhub, crossing moral boundaries, and asking "what exactly does watching an [insert sexual act mean?"], #1 hit in a google search for "porn", mainstreamness of fetishes and niches due to Pornhub's categories and tags, Pornhub's "video listings are topped by the generic categories of "big tits" and "hardcore", while the categoriws of both gay and shemale porn offer no content and link to an external site, 8Tube., videos showing up on Pornhub and shooting to #1 before even appearing on their creator's own site - "that's thievery", an incredibly interesting article describing how "Gallup identifies top 12 religious cities; Pornhub finds that a lot of those cities love porn", remediation of pornhub logo, TalkTalk child filter fails to block pornhub, "Online Porn Use Plummets During Super Bowl XLV", Pornhub & Rihanna, "organizes an online content orgy of everything from homegrown exhibitionists to slick professional scenes" - both professional and amateur content, Pornhub allegedly photoshops genitalia, In May 2010, pornsites that were previously block in China suddenly became available, including the English-language YouPorn and PornHub, the state of the porn industry and its impact on porn sites like pornhub, pornhub and the Kim Kardashian sex tape - there is a LOT of stuff to do with Pornhub and celebrity issues, "Welcome to the darkside @justinbieber--" Tweeted a Pornhub exec, "as a gift for your 18th birthday, I would like to honor you with a free Pornhub Premium membership."--Coin945 (talk) 13:33, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Slush pile – (page view stats • edit • talk • history)

I was aware of the concept, but had no idea it had a name. This is the dreaded pile of all the rejected manuscripts and query letters that accumulate in publishing houses because of their sheer magnitude. I thought this was a neologism, but even the first page of google hits has proved me wrong. This is an incredibly notable topic. It is such a shame that the article is really woeful. Some sources include: The New Yorker Rejects Itself: A Quasi-Scientific Analysis of Slush Piles, The shocking truth about the slush pile, Slush Pile Reader Program, The Death of the Slush Pile, Leaping Out from the Slush Pile, Mysteries from the Slush Pile: PW Talks with Barbara Rogan, Confessions of a slush pile reader, Open Submissions: Navigating The Slush Pile, What Parenting Books Can Teach Us About Critiquing, The Slush Pile - Hardy & Knox, Lessons From the Slush Pile, How to Stay Out of the Slush Pile, Why Most Manuscripts Don’t Click with Literary Agents.--Coin945 (talk) 14:13, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Marx – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 1100 daily hits

Incredibly successful adult contemporary artist, most well known throughout the 80's and 90's for hits like Right here waiting for you. Will always have a special place in my heart for being half responsible for the incredible duet At the Beginning, played throguh the credits of Don Bluth's Anastasia. Considering how extensive his career is (evidenced by his discography page), I am rather surprised at how bare his article is.--Coin945 (talk) 18:42, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
