Gameplay edit

Format edit

Presented with a group of seven "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and contestant must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of five rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[4]

The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving $U10,000 if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to double its winnings by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad. If the singer is bad, the contestant's winnings is given to the bad singer instead.

Rounds edit

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestant with seven people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. First impression (Spanish: Primera impresión)
The guest artist and contestant are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
  2. Lip sync (Spanish: Sincronización labial)
Divided into two groups of three mystery singers, each of them have to perform a lip sync of their own. At the conclusion of performances, the contestant eliminates one mystery singer from each group.
  3. Give me a clue! (Spanish: Dame una pista!)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers.
  4. Musical skill (Spanish: Habilidad musical)
The guest artist and contestant must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.
  5. Interrogation (Spanish: Interrogatorio)
The guest artist and contestant may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background edit

Production and development edit

Following the successful broadcasts of ¿Quién es la máscara?,[5][6] Grupo Cardoso formally acquired the rights to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in Uruguay, as per CJ ENM's dealing with Fremantle released by Produ[1] in December 2023.[5][7]

Naming edit

The show's title Veo cómo cantas (English: I see how you sing)[1] is adapted to the Uruguayan counterpart that also comes from a title of the Spanish counterpart itself.[8][9]
