Billy Meier edit

Please desist from adding unsourced and poorly sourced content to Billy Meier. Wikipedia articles should only include content from reliable, secondary sources. Self-serving self-published work does not meet this criterion by a long shot. If you continue to add this material, it will continue to be removed. The difference is that IIG and the Center for Inquiry in general are considered reliable sources on the subject of paranormal investigations (by Wikipedia editors, mass media, and professional debunkers). Billy Meier and his witnesses have no such reputation. Someguy1221 (talk) 03:15, 29 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
What's so special about publishing a book? Heck, I have a published book you can buy right now. Publishing a book is not especially hard. Anyone can start a publication and claim to be a reliable source. Reputation is harder to come by. If you want to press this issue, I highly recommend you take your source to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard and see if any editors agree it is a reliable source. I'll abide by any decision that comes out of such a discussion. Someguy1221 (talk) 03:44, 29 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well that one is easy, actually. The article on Jesus does not use the bible as a source. Our article instead relies upon the vast body of biblical scholarship that has been produced by historians and other experts. Someguy1221 (talk) 04:58, 29 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
You are more than welcome to voice your opinions on Talk:Jesus and see if you can change the consensus there. Someguy1221 (talk) 07:28, 29 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

August 2022 edit

Hello, I'm LuckyLouie. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Billy Meier, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! - LuckyLouie (talk) 14:11, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The caretaker for the Billy Meier page is simply taking revenge for me pointing out a few gross defamatory entries about Mr. Meier. Realising that he has no valid arguments supporting his breaches of privacy rights after me citing actual Swiss law – something which can obviously lead to lawyers getting involved, he goes the easy way by silencing me, and thus even preventing me from filing a report on issues regarding biographies of living persons Zutt (talk) 13:37, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Articles (not pages) do not have officially designated caretakers. Editors may participate at any article they wish. You used the threat of legal action(a subpoena) as a cudgel in a discussion. To be unblocked, you must agree to stop bringing up the possibility of legal action and agree to pursue your grievances according to Wikipedia guidelines. As this request does not do that, I am declining it. 331dot (talk) 16:36, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

You are defining the purpose of an appeal as me coming forward and writing “oh I have been wrong and you have been right all along”? Please reread my words, I had done exactly two things: 1) reminded us that the Wikipedia information pages are leaving the path of external jurisdiction as an option in accordance with US law, 2) I stated that in all likelihood Billy Meier will not go that far. Which lawyer would possibly call that a “threat of legal action (a subpoena)? Sorry, but that argumentation is ridiculous. Zutt (talk) 02:46, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This is not an unblock request. SQLQuery Me! 04:05, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
