Speedy deletion nomination of Dr Bernard Vallat edit

Hello Zszabo81,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dr Bernard Vallat for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 16:30, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

September 2014 edit

Yes, in fact I haven't removed them for a special reason. Actually I took the list of the UN memeber countries and then I removed the 18 countries which are not members of The World Organisation for Animal Health.

And you're right, I should have had explained that in the summary. Sorry, won't happen again.

Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Member states of the World Organisation for Animal Health  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 08:10, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Drapeau 2007.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Drapeau 2007.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:09, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

This edit was pointless. {{Copyright Martine Risser/OIE}} is utterly meaningless. Please provide proper source and licence info. In fact you will probably have to tag it as fair use and provide a proper fair use rationale. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:36, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Posts on my talk page edit

I really have no idea what you are talking about when you wrote "You have just deleted the World Organisation for Animal Health logo (OIE)? May I ask why ?". I went back in my contributions history and couldn't find anything. Link the page here and maybe I can explain but I have absolutely no recollection of ever editing that page. SantiLak (talk) 21:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • My mistake then. I don't know why but your name appeared as linked to the deletion of the logo. It my have been a bug or something. Sorry anyway for the misunderstanding.
I'm sorry, my mistake. I don't know why but your ID was linked to the deletion of my logo. It might have been a bug, or just me.

Sorry again for the misunderstanding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zszabo81 (talkcontribs)

WP:ELNO edit

Adding these links to dozens of articles is not appropriate. Thus removing them. They are only tangentially related. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 16:21, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Adding link to the http://www.oie.int/en/ to dozens of pages is similar to add a link to the main page of the CDC, NIH and WHO. We need to be more specific.
Some of the links you have added would be good as references (such as this one http://www.oie.int/fileadmin/Home/eng/Media_Center/docs/pdf/Disease_cards/PPRS-EN.pdf). Please keep in mind that we are an encyclopedia rather than a collection of external links. This link does not even mention rabies [1]? Please only link pages that are directly related to the topic at hand. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 10:21, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

SPA edit

Your account appears to be what we call a Single-purpose account ("SPA")- namely all of your edits to date relate to World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) either directly or by adding links to their website. Please read the link to the SPA article I just provided you. Please also keep in mind that if editing Wikipedia is part of your job or you are otherwise paid to edit Wikipedia, under the Terms of Use that you agreed to when you created an account (and that is linked-to at the bottom of every wikipedia page), you must make certain disclosures about paid editing - these obligations are described at WP:COI. Please do read the COI article. In case you are affiliated with OIE, please also see Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. Best regards Jytdog (talk) 12:55, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I know it looks like a SPA, but I can assure you is not. I'm a volunteer on Wikipedia and my only contact with the OIE was 7 years ago when I worked for them as a hostess for one of their conferences. Since then I have never received money or other advantages from them. I know I've been adding a lot of links directing to their webpage, but I have done that, because I think that is important when we are talking about an animal disease to relate it to the World Organisation for ANIMAL Health. The same way, as I think that when we are talking about Ebola, it has to be linked to the WHO (World Health Organization). I am an art historian, but I'm also passionate about astronomy, physics, litterature and biology. And as I was reading about those diseases I've found that there are no links to THE organization. That is it! I know i've been adding some links (maybe too many), but I've done it just because I like finishing something I've started. The same way I will do, when I wil edit about archangels, supernovae or any other subject. It just my way of organizing things. Thank you for you understanding! Best regards! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zszabo81 (talkcontribs) 6 September 2014‎ 13:55 (UTC)
Thanks for replying and for clarifying your relationship with OIE. So it seems we have may have a little bit of an issue with WP:ADVOCACY but I will let that sit for now. You are new here and a bunch of people have given you feedback that what you are doing is not appropriate. The worst response you can give is to brush that off. The best response you can give, is to 1) acknowledge that you are new and have a lot to learn, 2) actually read what folks have taken the time to write to you, about the links you have been adding, and read the links to the policy/guideline pages they have kindly provided you, and 3) change your behavior. it is not OK to add links to the general OIE website or general index pages to a boatload of articles. That is spamming behavior, regardless of your intention. If you keep doing that and don't change your behavior you are going to get blocked. You are of course free to follow whatever path you want - paths that lead to arguments and you getting blocked, or paths that lead to you being a happy and productive part of the Wikipedia community. Good luck! Jytdog (talk) 14:14, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
You are right. I will follow your advice, try to do my best and make better edits. I never wanted to offend any one and I'm very grateful that people are taking their time to see what I have done, so please accept my appologies if my behavior was innapropiate.Zszabo81 (talk) 14:24, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
great!! there are lots of folks here who will be happy to help you, if you are open to learning. good luck really! Jytdog (talk) 16:30, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

September 2014 edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Anthrax. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. ☾Loriendrew☽ (talk) 13:36, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:04, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your remark. I shall do so from now on.
so ... do it! put 4 tildas directly after your comment above, and your signature will magically appear. Jytdog (talk) 14:18, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
