Hello! I need some help on creating a new page on my user page! Thank you Zofochka (talk) 00:50, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Zofochka! What exactly is it you'd like help with? Do you mean writing about yourself on your userpage? If so, I see that you've already added some stuff. The reason why it's all showing up in that funny font with the box around it is that there's a space at the start of the line, which Wikipedia reads as meaning the line should look like code. For example,
cat (without space)
shows up differently to
cat (with space).

Just remove the space and it'll be fine! There's a huge (and rather mind-boggling) amount of information on fancy designs for userpages at the user page design centre, but do feel free to just add whatever you like. It's your space, to do with as you please (within guidelines, of course!) Basic coding, for headers and images and stuff, can be found at the cheatsheet.

If you mean creating an actual article, as a draft in your userspace, do check out our article wizard! I see, though, that MTHarden is your instructor and I assume you'll get guidance in-class about what to do. In any case, I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Do feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you ever want to get a second opinion or advice on something. Cheers! sonia01:06, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Week 3

edit

Well, I found your article linked from your user page, you left a review, and you even signed your comments.Your review was not particularly helpful though since it stated problems already identified, or that are true of all stub-class articles. Scores will be posted on Moodle. --MTHarden (talk) 14:35, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article Selection

edit

All of your articles are pretty good right now, not real things, or otherwise problematic. So go back and try to choose some article in serious need of improvement. Remember to try to select "stub" class articles, articles for creation, or unassessed articles that are likely stubs. Go back to week 3 and for guides on how to choose articles or communicate with me about it. Don't pick articles that end in phobia, NOS or are about journals. Also, after the article list is posted to the class page you could just add yourself to an article with an empty slot. --MTHarden (talk) 15:38, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
