Sally Mann

Hello Zipity11. You are doing a great job on the Sally Mann article! But, since it appears to me that you are closely related to her, there is the risk of a conflict of interest, see WP:COI. If there is a conflict of interest: as long as you stay editing, as you do now, with a neutral point of view (see WP:NPOV), there are no problems. That requires some self reflection on the edits you want to make. If you think an edit may be controversial, you can ask at the article's talk page somebody else to make that edit, or ask me. Hey Crowsnest...I do have a major edit on Sally Mann that I would like to submit, and, I like you, am concerned about maintaining a NPOV, although I think I have done a good job of it. I would like to run it by you first. Can I do this by putting it on my users page, or in my sandbox? Is this even the right place to be asking you this question? Thanks for offering to be available for advice! ~ ~ ~ ~

Hi Zipity11. The following categories do not exist, so I cannot add Sally Mann to them:

• Category:Putney School alumni
• Category:DFA recipients
• Category:NEA recipients

Further, since she is already in the corresponding "photographers" categories, which are sub-categories of the "artists" ones, I think it is overdone (see WP:CAT) to put her also in these cat's:

• Category:Women artists
• Category:American artists

I wondered...

I was using Annie Liebovitz as a prototype, and she had those categories (well, some of them). I just assumed that the more categories, the easier it would be to find and cross reference a person.

Categories removed.
