Darts tournament brackets
editNice job with those brackets on the PDC World Championship pages, I think there is only 2005 not in that format now. If you don't get chance to do that I'll get round to it in the next few weeks. Seedybob2 10:10, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
macrons in sumo et al
editHey Zeyes. We were aware that most sumo wrestlers did not have macrons for the long vowels in their names. One reason for this was that it followed the conventions used on the official English Sumo Kyoukai site. Another is because some of the major contributors live outside Japan and have not studied Japanese, and therefore cannot make a call on macrons or no macrons. Having said that, I think it give the articles more accuracy and style to have the correct macrons. Your other factual, style additions/corrections across the sumo article are also highly appreciated. Thanks. Malnova 20:43, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Heya article
editThanks for your improvements; I wasn't happy with the mixture of ancient and modern opening dates either but didn't have all the information available. Good to see you back editing. Regards, --Pawnkingthree (talk) 16:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Yanagawa
editThat's interesting - I had no idea he was a cult figure among sumo fans:) Sometimes articles do seem to appear just because of the idiosyncrasies of a particular editor, not because they are really notable - for some reason we have one on the stunningly mediocre Hananosato whose biggest claim to fame seems to be that he's one of Asashoryu's tsukebito, and who doesn't even have an article on the Japanese wikipedia as far as I'm aware.
And it was nice to find out what Ozutsu's up to these days - I always had a soft spot for him.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 22:05, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
There is currently a discussion on the talk page of this article over whether it or the "new" Nishonoseki stable (formerly Matsugane stable) should be regarded as the primary topic, or whether there should be a disambiguation page. I know previously you've looked at the issue of how to deal with revivals of historical stables and whether to give them separate articles so I thought you might be interested.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 02:15, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Van/van
editI'm not going to start the discussion that it is actually wrong in the first place to write those prepostions in capitalised letters, don't know why the Flemish are insisting on that. But whatever, do what you have to do.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ThommyI (talk • contribs) 19:08, October 24, 2016 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn't exist to reflect how you want things to be. The Flemish are spelling it that way, that's all that matters - especially as we're dealing with names here, a rather personal matter. It's not up to Wikipedia editors to claim to know better. Zeyes (talk) 18:32, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
