SpongeBob season DVD articles

edit

Please stop creating these articles. The articles about the individual seasons already EXIST!! I would like to tell you that Wikipedia is not an advertising service, so please do not copy text from other advertising sources and paste them on Wikipedia. Just to inform you, I have redirected links to the original articles. If this repeats, I am afraid I will have to report you to the admins. Thanks! This article was deleted in line with Wikipedia process: see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Best Day Ever. It was decided to delete the article until such time as it actually airs and something can be written about it. Please stop putting up the blank article. Welcome

edit

Hello, Zany zacky, and Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. We hope that you like this place and decide to stay.

Here are some helpful tips for newcomers:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. This can be accomplished by typing three tildes (~~~) after your comments. If you use four tildes, you can add the date and time too. You can even customize your signature by clicking the "my preferences" link at the top of the page.
  • You may want to create a user page. You can use this page to tell other users about yourself, make a list of the articles you've contributed to, add links to websites you like, and for testing wiki markup. If you're not sure where to begin, try picking out some userboxes for yourself to get started. If you do not wish to have a user page, then please redirect it to your user talk page (here) rather than leaving it blank. This will save everybody an extra click ;-).
  • Check out the manual of style to see how wiki markup works. Don't worry, it's not that hard to learn!
  • Always remember to fill in the edit summary field when editing articles.
  • If you are not a native speaker of English, check out this page.
  • If you have a specific area of interest or expertise, consider joining a WikiProject about it.

Here are a few links that you might find helpful:

A complete list of all Wikipedia policies and guidelines can be found here.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, or try browsing through the help pages or the tutorial.

Page recreation

edit

If a page is not there for editing, it means it has been deleted. Do not overturn this and recreate articles. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. 129.89.191.226 06:46, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You have recently re-created the article The Crossroads of Destiny, which was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not re-create the article. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may ask for a deletion review. --Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 06:31, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sign your comments

edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Squirepants101 21:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

SpongeBob SquarePants DVD/VHS covers

edit

I have removed the inappropriate use of fair-use images (see WP:FUC) from the article, plus remember that WP:ISNOT#Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files.

After doing so the article has no content and i have deleted it under WP:CSD#A3. Thanks/wangi 22:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Provide edit summaries

edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Squirepants101 14:56, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! Pre-Hibernation Week

edit

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Pre-Hibernation Week on Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, welcome, and I hope that you will like Wikipedia. Squirepants101 16:15, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

DJ Patrick

edit
A tag has been placed on DJ Patrick, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. If you can indicate how DJ Patrick is different from all other articles, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}}, and also put a note on Talk:DJ Patrick saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions. Squirepants101 01:07, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've tagged it for speedy deletion because in the past, it's been deleted as a hoax, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DJ Patrick. Note that I am not convinced with the "source" on the List of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes because it says nothing about it. I believe that Uncle Sherm episode is real because of the screenshot of Uncle Sherm himself. Squirepants101 01:07, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay, it says something about it, but that's just a SpongeBob fansite. Fansites are not reliable sources, see WP:VER. Sorry, but even though there is an image of Uncle Sherm, sadly it's still a fansite. Wait until some better, more reliable source like TVGuide or Zap2it posts something about Uncle Sherm's Visit, like a summary and actual airdate. Squirepants101 02:48, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters

edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. --Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 22:45, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:TheCompleteBook1Collection.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair-use images removed from your user page

Hello, Zany zacky. I've removed some images from User:Zany zacky/test1, as they are copyrighted, unlicensed images that are being used on Wikipedia under claims of fair use. These images have not been deleted from any articles. If you have any questions, please let me know. —Bkell (talk) 05:24, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:Season Five SpongeBob.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Image-Season Five SpongeBob.jpg. The copy called Image:Image-Season Five SpongeBob.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
