re: edit to Glenbard West High School

edit

Greetings Zaksdad!

First, welcome to the project. Best of luck in your editing.

I made a change to the edit you made to this article, and wanted to explain what I did. On a school article, the reference must not only confirm that the person is an alum of the school, but also must fulfill the requirements of being a reliable source. While the imdb is generally acceptable for confirming an individual's work history, it is not generally reliable in terms of meeting reliability for biographical information. This is because that information can be submitted by any individual for inclusion, and is not necessarily checked for accuracy by the website.

I removed the imdb reference, and replaced it with a notation requesting a citation. If you know of any other reference that can confirm that this person is an alum, please add it. There are editors who are very quick about deleting unreferenced alumni on school articles.

I just wanted to let you know what I did rather than revert and run. Best of luck to you. LonelyBeacon (talk) 23:53, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Congrats on finding the sourcing (the Daily Herald article is especially important). I went ahead and formatted the references the "right" way (which is something that I or someone else will have to do to the rest of the references in that article someday.
