Speedy deletion of User:Zaiger420 edit

A tag has been placed on User:Zaiger420, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User:Zaiger420|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —Chris! ct 02:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. —Chris! ct 06:56, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Dramatician.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dramatician.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?
Now that the template is out of the way...I'm sorry about the "welcome" you've gotten, and I hate to pile on, but you can't use unfree images in userspace. If you really want to use it, see if you can get the author to release it into public domain. --UsaSatsui (talk) 05:54, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Regardless of the intended use, it's still a copyrighted image not being used as "fair use". If you don't change the copyright info, it's going to be deleted. Copyright law around here is "serious business". --UsaSatsui (talk) 20:28, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • If it is not a copyrighted image, then I suggest you change that license tag there to make it not say it's a copyrighted image. That's why there's all this trouble. Try one of these. If it's free, there's no problem with the image. "proof" isn't necessary. You just need to label it correctly.--UsaSatsui (talk) 03:21, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
