Anywhere.fm edit

A tag has been placed on Anywhere.fm, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 04:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion tags edit

As the original author of that article, I would reccomend that you do not. Don't worry too much right now, you added the {{hangon}} tag, and, the talk page makes it obvious, that the article is being fixed. As an administrator myself, I would not delete it right now. Either I, or, someone else will likely remove that tag shortly, but, I'll let you know now, if you don't assert the notability of the subject of that article, someone else will want to delete it for that reason. I know, this sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through, but, they are needed, to build a reliable encyclopedia. Have you checked out what I've done with the article, or, the posts I've made to it's talk page yet? :) SQL(Query Me!) 06:02, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Here's how I do it. For example, if I was going to cite Microsoft.Com, I would use <ref>{{cite web |url=http://microsoft.com/somepage/to/cite |title=Some Page to Cite |accessdate=2007-09-28}}</ref>, right after the text I wanted to back up with facts. You'll want to check out Wikipedia:Citation_templates for some other types of citation templates.
It'll look something like this:
Windows 2000 was released on Feb 17, 2000. [1]
Then, the references section will show this:

References edit

  1. ^ "Microsoft Releases Windows 2000 to Manufacturing". Retrieved 2007-09-28.
I hope this helps! :) SQL(Query Me!) 06:17, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Great job! :) Hey, by the way, you can't cite personal experience, sorry... Still, excellent work on the refs! SQL(Query Me!) 06:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:FFRBanner.PNG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:FFRBanner.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:30, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
