It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Allie Goertz
editHello Z359q, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Allie Goertz, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: coverage in reliable sources and having a notable band write a song about you are sufficient claims of significance to pass A7. If you believe she is not notable, take it to WP:AFD. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. SoWhy 10:15, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Close paraphrasing
editWhen you tag an article has having issues (such as close paraphrasing, as you did at Buszy), it would be a lot more helpful if you would use the article talk page to identify the sections that need attention. Or are you saying that the whole article is very close to wp:COPYVIO? (The article has had a "chequered history"). --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 16:44, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- There were several different areas that looked like copyvios. The detector said 50% likely of copyvio. I looked at the comparisons and considered marking the article as a copyvio. I was not sure exactly how to do that, so I went with close paraphrase/copyvio hoping someone with more experience could look further in to the matter. Thank you for writing. Can you help? What do you think? Z359q (talk) 00:38, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
