BSG Episodes

edit

Let's list them by season/episode instead of year. For instance 101|33 (Battlestar Galactica) for the premeire. It seems like a better idea to me --ZachPruckowski 00:42, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, my mistake. I'll change back the ones I started. But it may be better to have two categories, since they're totally different series. But whatever you want to do. Also, you accidentally wrote that on my user page instead of my talk page (I moved it) --ZachPruckowski 00:50, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Not a problem. I'll change the rest of them tonight to year production# title, it looks we've got about 8 like that, and the rest just by year. I'll do it in a few hours, let me know if that doesn't work. --ZachPruckowski 00:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

After a discussion with an admin (the one who reverted the category back to straight alphabetical order), we decided that in conformance with Wikipedia standards and conventions, we ought to have two categories arranged alphabetically. I'll be making that change sometime later today. If you have comments or concerns or questions, you know where to find me. :) --ZachPruckowski 18:28, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Full Colors vs. Pyramid

edit

(there is no proof that the new game is played the same way as the old one)

There is NO PROOF it isn't either, your basing everything off your own conjecture which violates Neutral Point of View rules. Cyberia23 23:31, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

(from another page's conversation) How does it violate POV? We have no proof that Full Colors and Pyramid are the same. Therefore combining the two and saying that they *are* the same is a POV violation. Keeping them separate allows them to be whatever they are. When they are proved same, they can be merged then. Yyyyyyyyyyy 02:48, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Y, you are making a fallacious argument that by NOT seeing anything confirming them to be the same that they are not the same. Cyberia23 and I are both in the right here. The ONLY thing that we KNOW about this from the screen is that they use the same deck of cards. Off-screen we have RDM's admission that they ARE the same thing and the name issue was his fault. There is plenty of evidence and rationale for a single article and NONE for two different ones. (Even when you DO pull it into two, the second one is less than meager.)

Template:Infobox animanga/Dorama

edit

I've moved this component of the Animanga infobox to Template:Infobox animanga/Drama in order to avoid confusion. In general, foreign terms should not be used in place of an English equivalent unless the foreign term is also in common use among English speakers. --TheFarix (Talk) 18:07, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dorama v Drama

edit

But Dorama is fairly widely used in English. The Dorama Encyclopedia : A Guide to Japanese TV Drama Since 1953 (Amazon.com) for example. - Yyyyyyyyyyy 13:31, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't think one book title is evidence of "wide use" among the general English speaking/reading population. Besides, "dorama" appears to be a Japanese phonetic corruption of "drama" to start with. So why not use the term that English speakers already know and understand? --TheFarix (Talk) 17:18, 30 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sasha

edit
  • You recently moved the article on Sasha the DJ to a new location and replaced it with a disambiguation page. This has broken approximately 100 links or so. I hope you plan on helping clean up all the links that now link to the new disambiguation page. Thanks. Wickethewok 05:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sigma Draconis (Honorverse)

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sigma Draconis (Honorverse), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --EEMIV (talk) 03:26, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

No content in Category:Macross and Robotech characters

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Macross and Robotech characters, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Macross and Robotech characters has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Macross and Robotech characters, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you

edit

The article you created, Ball_sport_(Battlestar_Galactica) maybe deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 21:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
