edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chris Krebs; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. GorillaWarfare (talk) 03:00, 18 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

DYK for New York COVID-19 nursing home scandal

edit

On 17 March 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article New York COVID-19 nursing home scandal, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was initially praised for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York, is now implicated in a scandal related to it? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/New York COVID-19 nursing home scandal. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, New York COVID-19 nursing home scandal), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Discretionary sanctions notice

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please review WP:BLPNAME and do not add names of individuals to articles without considering such guidance first. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez (User/say hi!) 20:43, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Nitin Natarajan

edit

The article Nitin Natarajan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability. Fails GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. edit

Your recent editing history at Tae Johnson shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. edit

In this edit you add a template in the middle of a quoted passage, asking that the quote be altered. You also did this here. Per WP:MEATBOT, you are responsible for all of your edits, even if they are done with the assistance of automated tools. I realize that you are involved in a heated dispute about this language on a totally unrelated page, but please be careful to not accidentally damage other parts of wikipedia to make a WP:POINT.   Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give making room to undo page move from USS Grunion (SS-216) (target article has unnecessary disambiguation) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into USS Grunion. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.  — sbb (talk) 04:08, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Yeah, these messages were posted here automatically by the CfD tab. They were posted here because you were the "creator" of those articles when you moved/renamed them. I moved them back, because ship articles should not be disambiguated if they were the only ship with that name (WP:SHIPNAME). So now USS Grunion (SS-216) and USS Blackfish (SS-221) point to USS Grunion and USS Blackfish, respectively.  — sbb (talk) 06:48, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
