Welcome back

edit

I'd normally drop a welcome message, and then a message telling you about edit warring, but you create a brand new account and immediately leap into an obscure edit war prosecuted by a sockpuppet?   Looks like a duck to me Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 09:10, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am Declan Reed's brother, Matthew. We occupy the same house. I don't know how to navigate making edits of my own - but he told me about the difficulty he was having on Wikipedia, and looking at the edits he made, I definitely agree with him. There's no justification for removing the US from the New Wave page given the amount of time it spends discussing American acts and usages of the term. How, though? Because I agree with him enough to uphold his edits? It just sounds like you are making excuses to stigmatize a certain perspective on these music pages that you don't like. Yerbariyn (talk) 09:17, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you are really his brother and not just him then that is unfortunate. Having recruited you to his edit war, and as you created an account to prosecute that war, you will, I expect, shortly be banned. If you are really not him but his brother, and if you have any interest in Wikipedia beyond bolstering his edits (which, to be clear, is not allowed), my advice would be to wait six months and then take the standard offer. You can come back then and edit collaboratively on things you actually care about. Take care. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 10:01, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Six months is a lot of time to give thousands upon thousands of people faulty information Yerbariyn (talk) 10:28, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
