Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page Hotel do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.- Gilliam 03:08, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Gilliam. I will review the help files. --xxxxxJohnGaltxxxxx

This is your last warning.
The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. I posted to your page, sir. I didn't consider it spam, given that the URL points to a site germane to the keyword, but again, I will refrain. Thanks. .--xxxxxJohnGaltxxxxx

Where would find the 'guidelines' to posting to particular stubs?

I reviewed the "Travel" stub and see that links were removed from there, too...links to Wikitravel? How much more germane could one get? Therefore, I'll review the help files, but could you point me in the right direction? --xxxxxJohnGaltxxxxx

Please read the guidelines for external links. Wikipedia does not use commercial or promotional links in articles, regardless of whether they might be related in some way to the subject matter. Note that the Hotel and Travel articles do not have any links to particular hotel sites, travel sites, booking sites, etc. --MCB 17:44, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
