Sardar Mehtab Singh edit

Hi, you recently suggestion that the Sardar Mehtab Singh page be deleted as it was a biography of a living person. Is there a way to recover it? He died half a century ago. Here is a source:https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/chandigarh/a-fair-chance/ Thanks. SSaphan (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:06, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Page blanking edit

Hey, two of those pages were created by me (HC Škoda PlzeňHC Interconnex Plzeň and HC Lasselsberger Plzen). Both of these were spelling mistakes. The former was supposed to be HC Interconnex Plzeň but I forgot to delete the first part before pressing enter. The latter was supposed to have the diacritic on the n at the end of Plzen. As for HC PlzeN 1929, it serves no use since HC Plzen 1929 is also there. Must have been an accidental caps lock on the N at the end.

And, I didn't know about the deletion tag. I actually have no idea how that works! Heroman26 (talk) 05:03, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Heroman26: Ah, ok. In the future, check out Wikipedia:CSD. Specifically, G7 is the one you want. Xevus11 (talk) 18:31, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wild Fly edit

Hi there. I saw you marked WildFly as reviewed. Not sure if you looked into the page history, but I am one of two editors who had identified problems with the page and had chosen to redirect. I try not to be the one to revert two times in a row, but find the reversion away from redirect in this case to be a little more questionable than usual given that it was an IP. Thought I would leave this background in case it changes your thinking in anyway (though you might have already known this) and to confirm before considering my options such as AfD. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 15:22, 18 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

you're right, that is odd. I'v unreviewed the page for now, give things some time to settle. Might have to throw it to the admins if it heats up though.Xevus11 (talk) 15:46, 18 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

Thank you for your review on Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe article xevus11. I am still developing my wikipedia skills and i hope to improve. Can You kindly look into reviewing other pages i created so that we can improve and make them better including Gilbert Peters and Linda Masarira which need to be patrolled so i would appreciate if you can review the pages for me. I am hopping to keep learning and get better so kindly assist me because other editors seem to rude and not patient with rookies who are still grasping Wiki. Thank you Hurungudo (talk) 14:38, 19 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Hurungudo: Sure thing, just did both of them. Overall, just be wary of using bare URLs for citations (the automatic citation generator works well for correcting this, though it isnt perfect), and there are a few sections on both articles that need a source. Overall, they look good though.

Speedy deletion contested: IRIB Omid edit

Hello Xevus11. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of IRIB Omid, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Television stations are usually considered notable. Thank you. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 07:15, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018 edit

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Xevus11/Archives/2018, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Speedy deletion for article on McCormack & Erlich edit

Hello Xevus11, Thank you for reviewing the article that I submitted on the above organization. You marked it for speedy deletion and it has now been deleted, the reason you gave was: "the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia." - . I think that the work that it is doing in the area of protecting racial and sexual discrimination rights in the workplace is important. Wikistanape (talk) 16:57, 30 July 2018 (UTC)How would you suggest that I improve it? Thank you.Reply

@Wikistanape: It sounds very important. However, notability on Wikipedia is established by "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." If we accepted every law office that dealt with a discrimination lawsuit, we would have nearly a dozen law offices within 10 miles of me. As such, we typically only accept things that have received significant independent coverage. For more information, see WP:N. Xevus11 (talk) 17:08, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
