Articles for deletion nomination of Jayanta Lahon

I have nominated Jayanta Lahon, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jayanta Lahon. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. KFP (talk | contribs) 22:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Start class article nominated for deletion

Hello,

Would you please have a look at my article Jayanta Lahon? I self-nominated it for DYK on last 10th Jan and it is verified. The article has also been rated as 'Start" class on quality scale. But it has been nominated for deletion on yesterday. XETELI (HELLO) 02:46, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Xeteli. Per WP:ONEEVENT, this young fellow, as described in the wikiarticle in its current form, should not get a wikibio yet, IMHO. You need at least a "second event". Is there anything else to write about this person? If he is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the youngest person to eat ghost chilli, or he goes on to do something else remarkable...., please include these things in the article. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 00:13, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Anandita Dutta Tamuly

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Anandita Dutta Tamuly. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anandita Dutta Tamuly. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Anandita Dutta Tamuly for deletion

Hello PFHLai, Would you plz have a look at Anandita Dutta Tamuly and this ? Regards… XETELI (HELLO) 02:44, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

I've posted my comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anandita Dutta Tamuly. --PFHLai (talk) 14:02, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I've fixed the problem of "Limca" & "Shabaash India". Plz have a look. XETELI (HELLO) 03:17, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Does either a Limca record or an appearance on Shabaash India make anyone notable enough per Wikipedia:Notability? I don't know. Probably. Do other holders of Limca records and those who appeared on Shabaash India also have their own wikiarticles? Is there a category of such biographies? If so, please categorize the article accordingly. --PFHLai (talk) 17:17, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Friends of Assam and Seven Sisters

A tag has been placed on Friends of Assam and Seven Sisters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. CSD Tag

Hi, you used a template for CSD on your own test page - this actually tags the page to be deleted. I removed the tag to prevent that. Let me know if I can help you with something related to listing templates ... (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:27, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a lot Bwilkins. Definitely I’ll ask for your kind cooperation/help when it’s required. Regards -- XETELI (HELLO) 02:23, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Restoration of Anandita Dutta Tamuly

Thank you very much Sir (Eluchil404) for your having restored my deleted article Anandita Dutta Tamuly. I find no words to thank you. I had nothing to say against the deletion of Jayanta Lahon, but in the case of Anandita Dutta Tamuly I could not agree with the result. Just because someone is not making any record in the Guinness, her/his other notabilities are disowned. Now the article is getting its dues getting a space in wikipedia. Speedy deletion nomination of Kamakhya (disambiguation)

A tag has been placed on Kamakhya (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

DYK nomination of Jonaki (magazine)

Hello! Your submission of Jonaki (magazine) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Dravecky (talk) 08:25, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Article needs some light copyediting and formatting fixes but of greater concern is that not only is the hook fact not present in the article, I'm honestly not sure what the "tender age" of a language might be. Also, while I may be misreading the text of the article or this may be a translation issue, it does sound like the magazine had content that might be recognized as editorial in nature. - Dravecky (talk) 23:32, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
  • The hook is present in the article, see here. “Tender age of the Assamese language” referes to the period when the Assamese language was not recognized as a language but was a dialect. The formation of Assamese language started from the Orunodoi period. Then comes the Jonaki period. Check here for details. Kindly do notify me on my talk page if there is any issue. Regards -- Xeteli (talk) 07:19, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
  • The phrase "tender age" appears in neither the nominated article nor Assamese language. Indeed, the phrase does not appear in the source you cite. On that point, the sentence "One unique feature of the magazine was that it did not have an editorial, but a column called Atmokotha (Self-sketches) where the ideology of the magazine as well as the society was regularly expressed." does not have an inline citation directly after it, as is required by the DYK rules. It was my oversight not to notify you of my earlier questions and for that I apologize. - Dravecky (talk) 08:24, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
  • In this case if an alternative hook will work, please help. So far as the inline citation is concerned, I’ve fixed it. - Xeteli (talk) 09:07, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
  • ALT1:... that Jonaki, the Assamese magazine published in the late nineteenth century, did not have an editorial? -- Xeteli (talk) 11:51, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

DYK concerns for Jonaki

Dravecky has some concerns about the copyediting of the article Jonaki. He noted some awkward phrases in the articles that need to be fixed before the article hook appears on Main Page. See the discussion here on my talk page and reply. Shivashree (talk) 03:06, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks Shivashree for notifying me the concern. But honestly speaking I am also not a native English speaker. I do agree that the article needs some copyediting. In that case, if somebody comes forward to do the job, I would be thankful to him/her. -- XETELI (HELLO) • FOOTAGE) 07:25, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:07, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Amarasom.jpg

You may also wish to consider using the the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Amarasom.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

at a resolution of 1,447 × 2,049 pixels, the image breaks the fair use criteria that images must be low resoloution. Whilst the application below states it is a low resolution image, it is not

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay.
