Tennis players with most titles in the open era
editWhy did you remove Andre Agassi (and Vilas for that matter) from the Open Era title leaders composition?? He won more big titles than Nastase, Borg and Laver and is the only one, who won a slam, year end, master series and olympics. He has won more slams than Nastase, Laver and McEnroe. He's certainly worthy to be on that table. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.119.174.89 (talk) 12:09, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
List of Grand Slam men's singles champions, chart changes
editPlease bring your List of Grand Slam men's singles champions chart changes to the article talk page. Having two different styles of charts works poorly in my view, and we have no reason to include single major tournament victories. Maybe others will agree with your changes, but let them have their say. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 03:35, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
@Fyunck(click):Yes I see. My main motive was to include a list of all slam champions in the open era. While that may seem irrelevant, I feel it is valuable for the list to include all players in a tally so viewers can compare and see where players such as Murray, Wawrinka and Courier weigh up to players who have won more, especially considering the value that each individual slam win has. The use of a different table was merely to give more space. It may seem more logical if there was a section devoted to an open era slam tally rather than having it just as part of the 'most grand slam singles titles' section. Not to overbloat the article with information but it would be a good reference point for people to compare all slam winners in the open era, not just players with 5 or more. --Xc4TNS (talk) 04:32, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Width
editHi Xc4TNS. I see you keep changing the width of the champions table form 65% to 75% and I don't really understand why you do that? At 65% the table looks neater and more compact while at 75% it becomes a bit too wide with much undesired empty space in the names' cells. 65% is already wider than the standard width of the table, you can check that by removing the width attribute (style="width:%") completely from the table. ForzaUV (talk) 20:57, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- I put the width of the table to decrease the amount of space between the champions list and pictures. 65% also is too small to put some of the font on the same the same line. It bunches it up. Just felt it looked cleaner if slightly larger. Xc4TNS (talk) 00:16, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Changes to ATP seasons pages
editPlease don't change the tennis articles according to your own preferences, there is no reason to change them and they have not been discussed on the talk page by other users. Please stop doing that. This makes the site more unreadable and the other tennis articles are not consistent. Otherwise it will be reported as WP:VANDALISM. Gro456 (talk) 21:48, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
- Gro456, Xc4TNS's have nothing to do with vandalism so threats to report based on this violate WP:AGF. You initially reverted, mentioning failure to state reasons for a change. I subsequently re-instated the changes with reasons given; per MOS:BOLD and better readability (due to increased fontsize). You then reverted twice more stating changes were based on personal preferences and subsequently that no reason for change exist. This is incorrect as valid reasons were provided. I also note that Xc4TNS made an attempt to discuss this on your talk page which you deleted without response. You also mention consistency with other articles. Please note that the vast majority (aprrox. 90%), of Grand Prix / ATP year articles are in line with Xc4TNS's changes. You are welcome to discuss this on the talk page at WikiProject Tennis if you want to get more opinions from other editors but do not edit war.--Wolbo (talk) 23:01, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
At this point I would prefer to resolve these issues with Xc4TNS and not have someone present the whole thing on his behalf, unless you are using two different accounts on this occasion. Gro456 (talk) 23:08, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
- Gro456, As Wolbo has stated, the changes are in line with all ATP / Grand Prix articles dating forward from 1971. The format used currently for the 2019 to '21 seasons pages isn't consistent with most articles. I have spent time on older articles fixing them and correcting / adding information so my intent behind my edits was to keep the format consistent.
- In regard to the actual format itself, having larger font size clearly makes articles easier to read, it doesn't make the articles too large so it is still easy to scroll through, it just makes better use of space on the page and showcases the players and their performances. Viewers can also skip to certain months in the calendar via the content section if they don't want to scroll. There are much larger tennis related articles than this. Having tournament champions in bold is unnecessary and as already mentioned goes against MOS:BOLD guidelines. The 'week of' section takes up way too much space as well. I mean, do most people scrolling through the articles really need to see 'September' or 'January' take up so much space?. I originally tried to put this comment up on the talk page but nobody bothered to respond. It is good now though that we are discussing this. I apologise for reverting any changes but I don't see how my edits are vandalism....--Xc4TNS (talk) 01:11, 28 May 2021 (UTC)

Belarussian and Russian flags
editStop adding the Belarussian and the Russian flags on the Current tennis rankings page because on their official rankings ATP and WTA and remove these two flags : https://www.atptour.com/en/rankings/ and https://www.wtatennis.com/rankings/singles. Stop adding them, this the first and final warning. 86.221.222.46 (talk) 19:55, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Please look on the talk page of the Current tennis rankings page. I don't know who you're warning, you don't even have an account. The rankings is a rolling system, players are banned from using the Russian banner in tournaments and the russian flag isn't used on the ATP website but players are still Russian. https://www.atptour.com/en/rankings/singles?rankRange=0-100&countryCode=RUS&rankDate=2023-05-08 Xc4TNS (talk) 11:12, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

- Actually the ATP and WTA have been wrong many times on stats, so they aren't always the best source. They usually are though. In this case they have a software issue that in removing the flags from individual players from tournaments, it also accidentally removes the flags from rankings and tournaments from before that Russian/Belarus ban. Poor software design on their part. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:37, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
