United States presidential election, 2008 edit

Xaoiv, what is the source of your popular vote numbers (specifically the changes to grand total)? Otto (talk) 15:46, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The source for my numbers is the "Results by state: Vote totals" section of the same page, specifically the row "U.S. total" which is the sum of the popular vote tallies in all 50 states and DC. Xaoiv (talk) 05:37, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Then perhaps you could show where you get changes to the individual states (e.g., [1]). God knows the major networks don't seem to be doing it; their data from past elections is still not up to date. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:47, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Magog, the sources for the individual state data is listed in the comments. For New Jersey and Ohio I have taken the extra step of updating the results based on the individual county board of elections websites. I have listed the results from individual counties in those states below. Xaoiv (talk) 08:00, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ohio edit

What is your source for these numbers? They do not match the Ohio SoS website. Electiontechnology (talk) 19:51, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

At the County Boards of Elections Directory, you can find websites for the boards of elections for each individual county in Ohio. Those sites have more up-to-date results than the SoS website. Xaoiv (talk) 20:13, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think it would be prudent to actually cite those sources individually somewhere or at least an explanation, rather than a link to general directory. -- Electiontechnology (talk) 23:32, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
