Vulcan ACR edit

If you're working on resolving the issues brought up during the ACR, it would be helpful to note this on the ACR page. If not, then carry on, and we'll close the ACR for failure to respond.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:26, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

No. The ACR is not my baby. The existing page (and I speak as an ex-Vulcan pilot) still has issues and had I been informed the ACR was being applied for, would have advised against it. There has been no discussion referring to the ACA by any editors which I find curious. My opinion is that the page still has some way to go and should be resubmitted when ready. XJ784 (talk) 15:55, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your prompt response. I'll start the process to close the ACR.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Notification of the intent to ACR was announced on WP:Aircraft's main discussion forum months ago, before you even became heavily involved in the article. To be kept easily aware of what is going on in the WP:Aviation community, we simplifed and automated the notification process within a single template, Template:WPAVIATION Announcements. Also, multiple edits by myself have listed "the A-class Review" as a reason for the edit in the article's Version History, and the talkpage for the Avro Vulcan has a link within the mainbox at the top to the review. There have been signs of the Review's existence; you may have been unfamiliar with them. Kyteto (talk) 18:10, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the information. I'm sorry to have caused problems here but I use WP constantly for other matters and trust that it's accurate. XJ784 (talk) 16:10, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

August 2013 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Avro Vulcan may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s and 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • the face of it, a strike aircraft would be entirely suitable for an attack on the Falklands.'<ref>[http://www.margaretthatcher.org/document/118426 'Falklands: FCO to MOD (sale of Vulcans to Argentina – no clearance given for sales – declassified 2012 (& attached pdf

February 2014 edit

I am trying to understand your recent edit to the film El Dorado, you have deleted the Technicolor reference, when the poster quite clearly states that this is the case? Regards, David J Johnson (talk) 13:52, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for your reply on my Talk page. My reason for reversion was that, as mentioned above, the film poster and film credits mention "Technicolor". Whilst I appreciate your technical reply, I still think that the article(s) should mention that they were color films - whether or not they were shot in Technicolor process or developed in that process. Suggest we await consensus from other editors, who have reverted your change? Best regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 20:20, 9 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
It is confusing but the category is for 'Films shot in Technicolor' with 'shot' being the operative word. It was a murky business, films were usually shot with Eastmancolor post 1955 and the lab that produced the negative was not necessarily the one or ones to produce the release prints. A classic example is 'The Guns of Navarone'. It was made in UK/Greece and the Eastmancolor negative was developed by Technicolor UK which produced beautiful dye-transfer prints for UK and the initial roadshow US release. But for the main US release, instead of shipping matricies to Technicolor Hollywood for dye transfer printing, the negative was shipped to a budget lab in the US and recut for Eastmancolor positive printing. Hence some films and posters say colour by Technicolor whilst others say color by Pathé. The chopping of the film is why a really pristine restoration of this title is sadly out of reach. Disambiguation link notification for July 18 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of three-strip Technicolor films, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Guy Green (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
