Tuppence worth edit
I like having TFP up by TFA, and the space for "Other Featured Content". The extended "about" text is a good idea but perhaps there is just too much blurb in the current proposal? TwoMightyGodsPersuasionNecessity 11:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Headings edit
I really like the heading design, that's something we can use. Overall though, I think the design looks too boxy. Maybe the big gray box should be changed/removed. ARTYOM 21:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
comments edit
I like the heading designs too, perhaps in very slightly different shades for the sections. I think the box design works well it's clear and compartmentalised. It would seem less intrusive if the background was a simpler tone, pale green, very light not so bold. I also think that the "did you know" section should change places with the featured image section. Did you know is handy at leading users, particularly new users, to new and interesting articles. --Brideshead (talk) 21:40, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Cluttered edit
It feels heavy and boxed in... too fancy and over-designed. futurebird (talk) 21:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Featured Picture edit
I love giving the featured picture a prominent place, but I think your design might be confusing at first. There will be a natural inclination to associate the picture with the featured article, which comes first in the list, but the picture will (presumably) almost never really match up with the article above it, which will be disorienting for the reader, especially the casual visitor. matt91486 (talk) 03:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's exactly what threw me. I didn't realize that the image and the text weren't connected on first scan. - BanyanTree 04:48, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think the "Featured" box needs some better organization, especially when images are concerned. Where are you planning to put the "Featured Article"'s picture? And as for the languages, I think the "Complete list · Multilingual coordination" should stay as well. --haha169 (talk) 05:11, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- This threw me too. I'd suggest moving the featured picture down so it is inline with the bottom two paragraphs in Featured Content. Then the featured article picture can be placed above. — CycloneNimrod Talk? 08:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

I like it edit
I really like this; its similar but different to the current setup; I love the idea of putting all the featured content together in one section; I do agree about the featured picture (either link it to the featured article or move it down to align with featured picture text). I also think the text block at the top (about wikipedia) is probably too much for someone new to wikipedia to look at; maybe reduce it and add a more... link. (I'm thinking like a library user who wants quick information). I hope these comments are helpful.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 10:11, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Seconding FeanorStar7. I agree the top text about Wikipedia may be too long for everyday. I like this proposal too. Shows some real original thinking--both in the featured content section and in the final box. Well done, Soxred93. —SusanLesch (talk) 07:20, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
I like it its great as yeah User:Montana Gy 10:41 A.M, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Problems edit
The intro text is a little long for my tastes - it fills the screen before you get to the Featured Content. Similarly, there's too much empty space in the FC box, because 50% of it is blank, save for the picture in the middle (which takes up only a small proportion of the box's considerable height).
