Welcome to Wikipedia from Jalexander edit

Hi, Wusteffi! I want to welcome you to Wikipedia and thank you for your edit! I hope you like editing here and being part of Wikipedia and that we will see you around for a long time to come. When you leave messages on Discussion pages (like this one, or the article discussion pages) you want to try and remember to sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); when you save the page, this will turn into your name and the date. If you need help, check out the Wikipedia Cheatsheet, Wikipedia:Questions or of course feel free to ask me on my discussion page. If you put {{helpme}} (and a note about what you need help with), someone will come by shortly to answer your question. Again, welcome to Wikipedia!

Thanks for your fix on Cranial_nerve ! Jalexander--WMF 19:22, 19 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks!

How'd you get involved with Wikimedia? Sounds like a fun role! Wusteffi (talk) 14:12, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I certainly love it! I started off as an occasional editor (and heavy reader) making random edits for a couple years before getting more active about 2 years ago now. I was generally focused on anti vandalism and spam (especially on our smaller language projects without as many users watching) and helping users (both new and old) on wiki, on IRC (live chat) and through our email response system OTRS when a chance to work for the foundation came up I applied and didn't get it :). Later they hired me to work during this year's fundraiser (most of those annoying banners of Jimmy were coded by me ;) ) and now I've stayed on as a fellow with my focus on helping the new users. It really is a dream to get paid to do something I believe in and would want to do in my free time anyway (and can now focus almost completely on it). :) Jalexander--WMF 05:00, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
