Bay News 9 edit

Thanks for your recent contributions to Bay News 9. I think you've done a nice job expanding the article. Please remember, however, to proofread your submissions. The word "it's" means "it is", not "belonging to it". I have corrected the mistakes, but you will save me time if you watch out for these typos before you submit them. You're welcome. I wish I had more info on the proposed toll booths at Future Exit 24(Rdige Road Extension), but I know they're supposed to go to the southbound off-ramp and northbound on-ramp. Since Future Exit 16(Lutz-Lake Fern Road) is supposed to be a quarter-cloverleaf interchange, I'm not entirley sure if or how they're going to add toll booths on those ramps.

Bay News 9 and WTVT help edit

Frisfron, I need the help of WikiProject TV to look at the WTVT and Bay News 9 articles, as they supposedly read as ads. I do not wish to see these articles be deleted. But I am unsure about how I can fix them. If you can recruit some WikiProject TV members who are familiar with the Tampa, FL market to assist with these articles, I would highly appreciate it. Wslupecki 18:20, 20 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

Hi Ws!
Thanks for your note. I doubt either article will be deleted, but thanks for the heads-up. I lived in Orlando for seven months, but only visited Tampa once, so I don't know a whole lot about the market. I believe user:CFIF is a Tampa-area Wikipedia: WikiProject Television Stations member, so I'll drop him a line. You can see here user:Erik16 tagged the Bay News 9 article, so it might be a good idea to ask him what particularly he thinks sounds like blatant advertizing. The only line I saw that really sounds bad on WTVT was "At one point, WTVT aired more hours of local news than any other station in the country.", which just needs a citation to make it perfectly valid. Speedy deletion of HART Local Routes edit

A tag has been placed on HART Local Routes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Gandy edit

Howdy, I live right at the mouth of the bridge so I walked out to the marina there (where the Newport development was supposed to go) and got a picture of the bridge which I added. In a stack of pics I found this one which was just something I took while we were fishing one day, I think because I was in a class called "structures". Anyway, it shows some of the differences in the bridge components, but since it wasnt taken for the purpose it isnt a great representation. What do you think about including it in the "Differences between the spans" section as a thumb?Mmcknight4 (talk) 21:30, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Interesting tidbit there. Because the older spans were constucted at different times, design elements between the two are substatially different (IE: the 1954 bridge has no emergency shoulders). But the bridge rails are essentially the same. Wslupecki (talk)

Bay News 9 article - Vandalism Issues edit

I've noticed several users trying to vandalize the Bay News 9 article. Though mostly minor unessescary changes, it is becoming an annoyance. Whom would I contact for intervention should the vandalism get out of control? Wslupecki (talk) 17:48, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Wslupecki,
It's only one edit in ten days; not a whole lot of vandalism by Wikipedia standards. In fact, the article doesn't get a lot of edits, judging by the edit history (ten edits ago was back in July). Protection probably isn't warranted here, but if things get bad, you can ping my talk page. :) Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 05:31, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Manatee County Area Transit edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Manatee County Area Transit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
