Talk page looked lonely

CamperStrike has been confirmed by checkuser [1] to be a blocked editor evading his blocks and has now been blocked indefinitely. Expect to see some other anon or trolling IP's to make an effort to continue to stir up trouble on Yellowstone and related articles.--MONGO 13:02, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm glad to see the block news, but sorry that it was necessary. I'm watching Yellowstone. --Walter Siegmund (talk) 02:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Signing ArbCom votes

You might want to go back and sign this before someone mistakenly removes it. --Cyde Weys 18:50, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I replaced the unsigned tag kindly added by Phil Boswell. Thank you. --Walter Siegmund (talk) 23:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Withdrawn

I appreciate your support, but have decided to withdraw from consideration for a position as an arbitrator. The community has overwhelming found me to be too controversial to hold that position. Thanks again for your support.--MONGO 20:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Mount Rushmore appearances

Since you wrote the original Talk:Mount_Rushmore#Appearances_section (almost a year ago, I know), perhaps you'd like to join the discussion at the bottom of that talk page about whether and how it still ought to apply. Thanks if you can. If not, then happy editing!--Kchase T 06:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the help keeping Dental floss free from SoLongBaby's disruption. --Ronz 16:43, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I wish that s/he would discuss the matter in a way that we could understand and perhaps reach a solution. The article needs some sources; do you have access to a library that might have some? Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 17:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Date wikilinks

Full dates should be fully linked so they show correctly based on user prefs: "The day and the month should be linked together, and the year should be linked separately if present."

Edits that remove the links around years that are a full date, like this edit do NOT comply with WP:DATE#Dates containing a month and a day despite your claim to the contrary in the edit summary. Please refrain from making erroneous automated edits that are quite laborious for those of us without bots or other automation to fix later. Thank you. 71.231.107.188 04:00, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for calling this to my attention. You are correct that my edits were noncompliant. I didn't understand the guideline at the time, they were done manually, and I did remove commas which was compliant with the guideline.
Have you considered establishing a username? Please see Help:Logging in. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
No problem. I appreciate people de-linking bare years in most cases, and have no problem with removing the commas. FWIW, I have at least 25,000 logged-in edits, mostly 2004-5, but prefer to edit 'anonymously' nowadays. 71.231.107.188 04:35, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
I fixed most of the remaining dates. I left the retrieved dates in yyyy-mm-dd format (and converted them to that format in places) since that is used in the web template. I will try to convert them to the web template when I have time. I understand about editing anonymously. Thanks again, Walter Siegmund (talk) 05:40, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
