Australian English

Just be aware that we use Australian English in articles about Australian topics, so there is no need to convert things into American spelling. Also, when adding/changing information, you need to include a citation to support the the new info. Thanks Kerry (talk) 07:43, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

convert template

I see you are adding the distances from one place to another. There is an better way to do this than doing it manually as you are. When in the Visual Editor, click on Insert then Template

then type in "convert" (without the quotes) and then click Add Template

A pop-up should appear and you really only need to fill in the first two fields. The first one is the number (e.g. 150) and the second is the units (e.g. km).

Then click Insert.

It will automatically convert and display in both km and miles. It is fairly smart about working out what is the best unit to convert to. You only need to tell the units to be converted to if that would not be the "obvious" choice, e.g. if you wanted to convert 150 km to feet.

Once you have added one of these templates, when in the Visual Editor, click on it, a pop-up will appear telling you it's a convert template with an Edit button, which you click and you get the same pop-up, and then you can change whatever you want to change. and then click "Apply Changes". Using these is much quicker and more accurate. Note the convert template can convert temperatures, weights, speeds and many other things (the full list of all the units is here). External links in article body

As per Wikipedia:External links we don't normally add external links in the body of an article (e.g. as you did with the schools in Charleville. We do use external links in citations in the body of the article and it would be normal to put in a citation to a school's URL as it usually has information used in the Wikipedia article such as its address for example. So if you are feeling the urge to add a URL, ask yourself, "could I use it as a citation?". I hope this helps. I don't want you to waste your time doing something that will be deleted later by someone else because you didn't know. If I can be of any help, just ask me. The Inlander (Queensland Rail) (January 2021)

Hi Worland270! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at The Inlander (Queensland Rail) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Wikipedia and copyright (Jul 2023)

Hello Worland270!
